Perfect fit and functionality for our studio!
We’re currently living in a small ADU on family property during a temporary work assignment. The unit has a little kitchen with a cube refrigerator and small microwave. With little counter space, the portable induction cooktop fits perfectly and meets our needs for making home cooked meals for two. It’s quiet and sleek. It accommodates our 10-in pan and heats up and cools down quickly for easy wipe-down and surface cleaning. We’ve cooked using various heat levels and successfully grilled meat, boiled pasta, simmered sauces, fried eggs… nothing is off limits.

As good as cooking with a gas burner.
This thing works great. Induction heat is as close to cooking with gas as it gets. Very fast response to changes in temperature setting. It’s easy to clean as long as you don’t allow food to be burned on. The size is also good. Fits on my countertop nicely. I store it when not needed.

good
This induction cooker is quite good. It exceeded my expectations. It's very convenient to use. When making fried foods or foods with unpleasant odors, I use this one in the yard. It's really convenient.

Good, not great, but we will keep it
This OMEO cooktop looks and feels well built and at 1800-Watts it performs fine. When using the "Temperature" option it holds the set temper perfectly within 1-degree-F. This is our first foray with induction heating and we love the concept. But, I now know there are critical questions to be asked before a purchase. Most importantly for us, what are the "steps" for temperature settings? This cooktop has has very large steps for each temperature setting. There only 10-steps and I thought that would be OK as we wanted this for slow cooking. But the "steps" are huge as it goes from 160-F to 240-F in a single step so a Simmer is really not possible. The next issue is whether it saves the last settings for next time. Since we will be only using it for slow cooking, having to set the temperature each time is a bit of a pain. Finally, it needs a "Start/Stop" button. This one starts as soon as you press the "Menu" button and you cannot preset the temperature or Watts before pressing "Menu." It always starts up at 1200-Watts and you have to race to get it back to where you want it. I think a "Start" button is mandatory and "Pause" button would be good. If you want to lift the pan and shake stuff it very quickly goes to an error code, "no pan" and if you take too long to get it back on the top, it shuts off. I like the way the it heats up water really fast so instead of returning it, I will move it to the garage for making tea etc. I have ordered a Nuwave cooktop with 51-steps in 10-F increments in temperature. And, it appears to have a Program mode allowing me to define and save multiple steps like 5-minutes at maximum to boil, then 40-minutes at 210 to Simmer. It is only 1500-Watts compared to OMEO 1800 Watts and it costs more, but for the extra bucks, it will provide the functions we need. Other than the above personal preference issues, the OMEO is a good cooktop.

OMEO Portable Induction Cooktop Hot Plate
This cooktop is very helpful for a person who lives alone and does not want to use a big stove to cook. The heat levels are very easy to control. The size of this product is not too big or too small and fits perfectly on my counter top. I use it daily with no problems, its easy to clean and easy to store. It has proven to be durable.

Works Well and Easy to Use
I bought this to use because I hate my glass-top electric stove and don’t have natural or propane gas to install a gas stove. It’s very responsive like a gas stove and brings fluids to a boil quickly. When turned off, the surface cools down much faster than my glass-top stove. I did have to buy a few new pots and pans that work with induction cooking, but that’s ok because they also work on other types of stoves. If you’re not sure if you want buy a full-size induction stove, a portable unit like this is a great way to get through a short learning curve.

Good Luck guessing your temp!
I got this in hopes it just had a plain temp control. No such luck. You can’t just put it at 250 degrees or 140 for low. You have figure out the puzzle first. Power vs temp and the whole mess is a cluster… You need the stupid directions to figure out what flipping temp you have it on. My first one didn’t have all these issues and I LOVED it! I think it was a Copper Chef and they quit selling them, apparently, because I haven’t had one that speaks English since. It was a plain temperature and you knew where you were on the cooking. They get something good and screw it up every time.

I love my induction cooktop!
This is my first induction cooktop. I have to say I am very impressed. I never had any type of appliance that could heat this quickly and evenly. It is sleek and beautiful. I would recommend an induction burner for anyone who loves to cook and cooks often. I timed heating 2 quarts of water to boil and it boiled in just under 4 minutes. This appliance does require induction cookware. Only cookware that has a bottom that attracts a magnet will operate this burner. I actually love cooking on induction cookware because of the even heating so this is a plus. This also has a warming button which keeps food warm after cooking without worrying about burning. It is super easy to operate with minimal controls. Very portable and highly recommended.
