Love this product & this brand. I tried a few others & I like this ones long probe & that the probe isn't as thick as some other brands. Easy to use & takes the guess work out of whether to water a plant or not. Many people suggest chopsticks as alternative but I like this much better. Works well, inexpensive, accurate, & will definitely keep you from over or under watering your plants. Your plants will thank you.

I used this to measure moisture level for our larger citrus plants. good reading. picked this over digital version since this one doesn't need batteries.

I tried this out on one of my plants that was showing distress from lack of watering, yet this meter didn’t show that the soil was dry. I watered the plant, the plant perked up, so I don’t know whether or not to trust this.

I'm pretty sure this is accurate although I'm not completely convinced -- yet. I'll update if I discover it's not accurate enough to be worth purchasing. But so far, it seems to adequately measure the amount of soil in the planters. The only reason I hesitate is stating it is 100% accurate is that yesterday I measured a catnip plant and it indicated the highest amount of moisture. Today I came out onto the patio to discover the catnip plant was nearly completely wilted. To be fair--we had a lot of wind, that afternoon after measuring as well as overnight and up to time I discovered the plant wilted. It was also in the sun... so it's very likely the soil dried out. I watered it well and the catnip plant recovered.I like the extra long probe. The meter is easy to read. It's simple to use -- no batteries needed. I'm going to purchase another one to keep in the lower yard so that I don't have to run back and forth all the time. It's reasonably priced.I have no reason not to recommend this meter.

Great until it breaks. Seemed inaccurate so dipped it in water and it still dry.

Was going to buy a more expensive electronic one but I decided against it. I don’t want to mess around with batteries and electronic things are more apt to stop working properly. This probe was spot on for my plants’ soil. I knew which were on the wet side, moist, and dry and this probe confirmed what I knew. Now I don’t need to do the finger test anymore and get dirt in my nails and just quickly use this probe instead. It isn’t sophisticated but it works and that’s what matters to me.
