I live in a reasonably large L shaped property with the fibre access point at 1 end of the house. I was struggling to get WiFi access to my WiFi enabled devices in the garage. Initially when set up the wireless backhaul was using 2.4ghz making it very slow. It turns out you need to install the router then 1st satellite and then second satellite one after the other. Since then working seamlessly for all devices with no drop outs and excellent speeds. I suspect seperate band for the backhaul helps with this plus the seperate network(IOT) for cameras and other gadgets that only use 2.4ghz has been great. Was initially apprehensive about the purchase but definitely worth the premium price

Seriously Overpriced for the performance. Range not close to as advertised, maybe if you live in a new build with paperwalls, signal can barely penetrate beyond 1 room. The reliability is awful, keeps dropping satellites and optimizing. Not worth it at all

I’ve been thoroughly impressed with the Netgear Orbi RBK970. Setup was simple and straightforward—just followed the included instructions and everything was up and running in no time. Performance-wise, it’s been flawless. All of my devices connect seamlessly, and I’m consistently hitting the maximum internet speeds provided by my ISP, which is a huge win. Even in a large home with multiple users and smart devices, the system hasn’t missed a beat. What really stands out is the rock-solid stability. I’ve had zero issues with devices dropping off the network, and the connection has remained strong and consistent throughout. Highly recommended if you're looking for a premium, high-performance mesh system that delivers exactly what it promises.

I bought a 3 unit system after reading the glowing reviews in various websites including Amazon. Returned it after a week of trial use. I live in a 4 bedroom detached house in the countryside and signal strength and WiFi conncection reliability inside the house are of primary importance. A big advantage of this system is the implementation of the wireless backhaul which I can't fault. I had a very strong wireless connection between the router and both satellites. Nevertheless the performance of the main Wifi network was mediocre. The latest iPhones (16 pro and 17) frequently dropped connections. Also the implementation of of the IoT network was poor - I could not get download speeds above 90 Mbps with M250 Virgin broadband.

I moved from an eero system to the 970 and the speed I am getting from my satellites is far superior. I was unable to successfully run zoom meetings before, this is now resolved. Really happy with the performance. Units are larger than I expected and price is high but I can now work from home in my garden office without any issues and less complaints of lag from the kids when they are gaming too

When it works it’s v fast but was hard to get it it to register in the app and then has lost link with the satellites - a bit irritating after a week after installation

After installing super fast fibre 2 years ago and on seeing speeds of around 150Mb against a promised 700Mb minimum this product finally opened the fire hose and I get speeds up to 1Gb at point of use, setup was simple, yes it’s pricey but it’s an investment for the future of the home. My opinion is, it’s worth every penny.

Constantly drops Wi-Fi connection to my devices - all of them, regardless of whether they are iOS Android or Mac. I’ve been through everything I can think of to try to resolve this, because when it works, the system is very fast. Sadly, it’s so unreliable that speed has become less important. I think I’m going to have to downgrade to the ASUS router I had before. It was slower, but it did maintain a constant connection.

Le NETGEAR Orbi 970 est le meilleur système WiFi que j’ai testé. Sa technologie Quad-band WiFi 7 offre une portée et un débit exceptionnels dans toute la maison. Contrairement à mon ancien système où j’avais besoin de 5 satellites pour une couverture moyenne, ici deux suffisent largement. Le débit reste très élevé même à distance, sans coupures ni ralentissements. L’installation est simple et la gestion via l’application est fluide. C’est un produit haut de gamme, mais il vaut clairement son prix. Et au niveau de la vitesse du wifi j'atteignais péniblement les 800Mb avant avec mon autre système branché à ma Freebox ultra et maintenant il n'y a qu'a regarder le résultat du speedtest que j'ai fait avec le Orbi !

This does not work at all my internet constantly drops wherever I am in the house. I contacted Netgear to help and they tried to fix but they couldn't. Even though it was faulty from the day I bought the product they refuse to send me replacement. This was the biggest waste of money I ever have done I have to go buy something else now. Completely waste of time, effort, and money. Also the warranty that Netgear promises is garbage they refused to replace or fix my product.

This system is unbelievable, i sorted out all the connection problems in my place with this unbelievable product. Easy installation and amazing connection and speed.

Ich bin mit dem Netgear Orbi 790 Mesh-System sehr zufrieden. Die Einrichtung war unkompliziert und das System läuft seitdem absolut stabil. Besonders überzeugt mich die Geschwindigkeit: Auch wenn mehrere Geräte gleichzeitig verbunden sind, bleiben Streaming, Homeoffice, Smart-Home-Geräte und Downloads zuverlässig und schnell. Für größere Häuser und mehrere Etagen ist das Orbi-System eine klare Verbesserung gegenüber einem klassischen WLAN-Router oder einfachen Repeatern. Ein kleiner Punkt, den man beachten sollte: In einem Haus mit drei Etagen müssen die Orbi-Satelliten etwas taktisch platziert werden. Stehen sie zu weit auseinander oder ungünstig, kommt in der obersten Etage zwar weiterhin WLAN an, aber nicht mehr mit der maximal möglichen Geschwindigkeit. Mit der richtigen Positionierung lässt sich das jedoch gut lösen. Insgesamt ein leistungsstarkes Mesh-System mit sehr guter Reichweite, hoher Geschwindigkeit und zuverlässiger Verbindung. Nicht günstig, aber für alle, die in einem größeren Haus endlich stabiles und schnelles WLAN haben möchten, eine klare Empfehlung. Von mir 5 Sterne!
