How is this paper different from vellum?

Vellum will buckle when alcohol inks or water media is applied, whereas yupo paper a a rigid support. I use yupo all the time. Hope this helps.

Is this similar to Duralar? Colored pencil or watercolor appropriate and using both sides

This yupo paper is translucent, so you can partially see through it, it comes opaque, and heavy weight as well. I don’t know what Duralar is, but I can tell you that Yupo accepts colored pencil, and Alcohol Ink beautifully. I’ve never used it with watercolor but suppose it would do well since it accepts the ink so well. Hope this answer helps!

It’s medium weight... it can’t take heat as it will warp. But the inks flow well on it.

Does this work in an inkjet printer?

Will not work with laser jet. It melts to the fuser rollers. It ruins the whole printer.
