Her books are like brain candy. I gobble them up and can't get my fill! Perfect beach reads. I love the characters. I can't wait to spend 13 more books with them! I don't understand how I'm so late coming to this series. It's paranormal with vampires in Texas and a brainy girl facing off with all the supernatural I adore! So much happens and I'm always on the edge of my seat holding my breath! And the endings. Cliffhangers that make me grab the next book. The books are smooth reads that fly by. Seriously fast fun reads!!! Review: The Best Vampire Series Out There! - If you want to read a great vampire series, the Morganville Vampires Series is what you're looking for. I bought Volume One (Glass Houses/ The Dead Girls' Dance) for a friend's birthday present. I loved that there were two books in one book. I opened the first page to read a chapter and see what the book was about. Before I realized, it was midnight and I had finished Glass Houses. I wanted to read through the night and finish The Dead Girls' Dance. The plot is quick and I couldn't read fast enough! The cliffhangers will make you run to the computer and order the next book.

A Paranormal Must!
I am a big fan of fantasy and paranormal novels when they are written well, and this author certainly succeeded in my humble opinion. I absolutely devoured this book. The characters are easy to identify with especially for anyone who has ever felt like an outcast. It is a complex story with enough plot twists to make your head spin and it keeps you so engrossed you can't wait to see what happens next. The protagonist Claire is a tough, smart little wunderkind who gets thrown into a world completely different than anything she's ever experienced in her life. I loved the author's descriptions of Claire's emotions which are a mix of adolescent and new adult feelings, like the quote from pg 173: "The whole world hushed, one perfect second of stillness. Claire didn't even think her heart beat." I was every bit as caught up with this story as I was with Twilight and the Mortal Instruments series. I am looking forward to continuing my journey through Morganville, one novel at a time.

For Fans of Twilight
3.5 Stars. Characters: I did like that Claire seemed like a 16 year old - she could be mature, but she could also be really immature. I did not like how Twilight-y the relationships were - there was a lot of "I'm the guy and I need to protect you" and "my decisions are the right decisions, do what I say". There were also some weird attitudes towards sex (the reaction or lack thereof to the Ian situation was particularly bothersome). I really didn't like Shane much at all - I definitely liked him better at first and started liking him less and less as the book went on. His focus on Claire being 16/17 and what was okay vs. what wasn't okay seemed to be based on really arbitrary decisions. My favorite character was Richard, and he was a minor character - I did like Amelie a lot too though. Plot: Overall the plots were fine. I think the plot in book 1 was a bit stronger than the plot in book 2. I did feel like there were a lot of smaller plot points that weren't really resolved, and that bothered me a lot because it made everything seem like it fell into place too easily. I wish the mythology had been more developed too - I felt like a lot of the background given was kind of weak. I especially didn't like that both books end on cliffhangers - that always makes me feel like the author doesn't really believe in the book and feels the (s)he needs to force you to continue the series by leaving a big issue unresolved. Overall: I definitely liked book 1 better than book 2, although book 2's cliffhanger was less dramatic which I appreciated. I don't think I'll continue with these books, but I'll definitely check out the Geek & Sundry webisodes when they start airing. I would definitely recommend this book to fans of Twilight.

I LOVE IT SOOOOO MUCH!!!!
I think the book was absolutely amazing, I got to say it takes a little patience to read because all of the books are very connected, but it's worth it because I think they are all amazing. Especially if you are a vampire nerd (like me) you will love these books, but I suggest them to 13 and up kids because of the language. Anyways the books are so awesome and you should positively check them out, but it matters on your book taste.

I Hope This Series Never Ends
Let me just say that I'm a very speedy reader because of this series. I just can't put it down. And I never ever read books. I even purchased a Kindle for this and plan to get the Kindle Fire soon. I'm on book 10 now and I'm getting down because I only have 2 books left until the next one. I'm so glad I took a chance on this. I'd have to say that of the vamps, Myrnin and Oliver would be my favs. And Claire is just so Bad Ass! Michael is so sweet. The stories and twists in each book are great. You just don't know what to expect. I'm reading other vampire books but this just tops it. If you're considering this you won't regret it. Believe me.

I was turned onto the Morganville Vampires books by a friend & cant get enough of them! Just when I think there's no where new Rachel Caine can go with the story, she comes up with a new, brillant & intricate plot line that twists & turns in unexpected & exciting ways. These books are a wonderfully delicious new way to look at vampires that keep me wanting more!
