It took me a while to get into this one. I am a massive reader of the genre and I normally get into these stories very easily but this one was harder. Maybe it was me, maybe the way it is written, but the important thing is that by the second half I was hooked. I’ll definitely read the other one in the series as I believe the characters have potential.

I couldn't get on with this book. I don't like to give up on a book but I just wasn't enjoying it.

Purchased on the strength of the reviews and I get hype, its a slice of life novel. Lots of different characters that you'll meet throughout the story. I'm still reading it, but its a good read. One of those books to read and lose yourself in.

The is the first book I've read from start to finish, uninterrupted, in years. It's not tough on the mind. It's light-hearted. It's heartfelt, and most of all it feels very down-to-earth. I was dragged into this on the premise that it reads like a "slice of life anime". It really is, but even more... real? I felt quite seen, as if someone could be writing about things I might've seen at the local shop, or round the corner from my home, if I lived somewhere similar. It didn't grip me too hard to the point I had to keep reading, but instead, whenever I put it down... I felt as if it was calling me to find out "a little bit more" about the lives of the people in the book. I was invested in their lives, encouraging them to do their best.. because they're real-feeling people, and their hopes are similar to mine. All I can say is: if you want to turn pages, but it's hard... try this. It'll treat you kindly, and acknowledge your struggles by showing you other people living their own little lives, and doing just fine.

It's such an easy read. And it's good to be a part of the character's lives and stories. It's amazing how something as simple as a convenience store became the interesting connection between people and their experiences.
