I use this daily for both health and comfort. Chilly living conditions eased by the 940nm setting (heating my body, rather than the air in the room), mitochondrial benefits at 660nm. I think the aim of the 540nm setting is reducing cellulite. The research I found on reducing swelling showed a much greater response on the "Swelling Inhibition Index" at 940nm. Interesting fact, sunlight is over half infrared. Indoor lighting is 0% infrared, unless you still have incandescent bulbs. The health benefits are achieved by getting close to the edge of visible light, 660nm showing effect directly of your cellular energy production. I think it also helps to balance the blue light from my screen. It feels wonderfully relaxing after time in LED white (blue) light.

If you’re buying this for use on a timer only, it’s good.

Great for the cost. The base needs to be heavier. It tends to topple over if not situated just right. I bought this for Mom’s macular degeneration. Very bright.

So, like most of the human race, I work on a computer all day and therefore suffer the expected aches and pains that go with it (stiffness in my fingers, wrists, hands, neck, etc.) I know virtually nothing about redlight therapy but, when I saw this device, I thought it was worth giving it a try. I’m still very new to this concept and, to be completely honest, I have no idea what I’m doing. The instructions are clear enough but pretty basic and focused on the unit itself - no information about the actual technology/therapeutic benefits so you’ll need to do your own research. The lamp itself seems well-made but, as mentioned by others, the base needs more weight to counterbalance the actual business end. Fortunately you can prop it between books or lean it on something so that it stays focused on the desired treatment area. A carrying case would be nice but at least it includes a pair of protective glasses that are transparent which allows you to multi-task (phone, tablet, TV) without fear of blinding yourself (especially if your treatment area is on/near/pointing towards your face). I can’t say I’ve noticed much of a difference yet but everything I’ve read says “it takes time” so I’m willing to keep trying it. If I can make it work consistently enough, and it does prove effective, I’ll update my review accordingly. Thank you for reading my review, I hope it was helpful!

I like that this light is easy to move from one location to another. The set up is quick and the timer/light controls are simple and easy to understand. If you get the lamp aligned properly to its base the light is stable enough. The lens of the light is not glass, so I was worried the thing might get too hot. It doesn't. After 30 minutes of use the light feels warm to the touch, but only just; definitely not hot. An owner's manual that explained the science behind the different lights would be a nice addition to this kit though.

Just simple and good; it is hard understand how for the price. I use it a few times in a week to and like the results.
