Terrific artisan coffee bean
This is not your super market coffee bean. To get the most out of this bean, you need a digital scale accurate to 0.1 gram, a decent pour over coffee maker ( I use Chemex) and a temperature-controlled water boiler (mine is Bonavita digital water kettle with a pour over sprout), and lastly filtered water. My steps are as follows: (1) Heat up water to 88C, (2) Rinse out residual flavor and warm up coffee maker/filter, (3) grind 10 grams of coffee and place everything on the scale, reset scale to zero (4) slowly pour 150 gram of water (1:15 ratio) through the coffee maker. Doing this consistently, then you will be able to control the flavor by adjusting the water temperature, fitness of coffee etc. The fun really starts then.I find this bean to be very smooth, complex in flavors, and the civets seems to remove a lot of caffeine, as this is the only coffee I can drink in the late afternoon and not keep me up all night.Don’t get me wrong, I do get super market coffee bean when I am busy making breakfast and just want a coffee to wash down the bacon and egg sandwich. However, in the afternoon taking a break from work, making a cup of artisan coffee is a ritual I really enjoy. And I would highly recommend this coffee bean.

I've tried several Civet coffee before but this one is really good. The product is from Golden Malabar which is one out of only two certified by Indonesian government so I know it's 100% wild and natural. Bean is very fresh with amazing aroma when I got it. The seller told me he roasted after I placed the order only because he insists to deliver the best quality coffee right to my hand and it's under the best condition to taste.Medium roast works very good to me because the taste complexity and unique flavor is clear. I highly recommend to try.

But I’m glad I did
I was a little hesitant to purchase this product due to different reviews on Amazon. But I’m glad I did. The coffee is very fresh and smooth. The acidity is complex unlike other Kopi Luwak coffee that is roasted very dark and I can tell the quality is much better than those from Vietnam. If you like hand-brewing coffee, I would highly recommend this coffee.
