Waterman 5 Pocket Boardshorts

These board shorts are good. I live in Hawaii and wear board shorts all the time. I ordered a size 38 and they are spot on. If you are in between sizes then the fit may not be as good around the waistline as there is no stretch. Your only option would be to order one size smaller, go on a diet, and loosen up the lacing until you have reached that perfect size. The length is good. I’m 6’-0” and they go to just below my kneecaps. They are a comfortable fit with plenty of pockets and the Mahi Mahi color pattern is vibrant, fun and different (my wife says it looks more like a peacock than a Mahi Mahi). But I like it! The fish bone embroidery on the side is pretty cool too.What would make them great 5 star boardshorts?1. If the material was 4-way stretch (there is no stretch in the material).2. If the fly was seamless (it's Velcro and the hard material edge and stitching seams can irritate the privates after a while).3. If at least one of the pockets was zippered (I like to know that my car key, hotel room card or whatever is still in there when I need it). Velcro pocket closures don’t give me that security.I think Tormenter makes another pair of shorts that are the stretchier fabric. Maybe I’ll give those a try next?

Nice style shorts. The material a little thin and the orange is much brighter than the picture on Amazon. After we washed the fish crinkled up a little, tried to show that in the pic. The 2nd pic is inside out of the fish because there is no lining this stitching is really thick and it bothered my husband’s leg whenever it rubbed against it. My husband really like the design but said the fit was tight and we needed to go up one size. If this was lined we would probably buy another one in a bigger size but since it is not we won’t.This is a real review from someone that purchased on my own not for the purpose of a review. I really rely on unbiased reviews to help me decide on whether I should purchase or not and helps me with sizing. I have realized it’s getting harder to figure out which are unbiased, so this why I have now started adding this. Thanks!

I do like the shorts overall, good fit, feel, function, etc. What I like most is that the sizes ARE what they are supposed to be. I have a hard time finding clothes that fit me right. I'm a smaller stature guy, and no going to the kids section isn't the answer (and yes, a little pride probably does keep me away totally). If you take a tape measure or anything, I'm 28" darn near on the dot and I can't tell you how many size 28 or, even 29 sized board shorts I've purchased that are (in one case in particular) 5" too large. That's not just me trying them on and them being too big, that's me taking a size 28 board short, measuring the waist with a seamstress tape, and they were just under 33" in circumference. I guess for those people in their 30s-50s that want to believe they are the same size waist as they were in high school or, college (pre-freshman 15! lol), something like that works out great! A real confidence booster. You can go from a size 40 to a 34 or 36 overnight depending on the brand. For me, finding a pair that I actually liked and that did fit true to size, I couldn't be happier. That's pretty sad something so minute can make me that happy but...? :)

Let me share something with shoppers,these triple seam shorts,with an embroider tuna on the side with two large side pockets and two small seal pockets,BUT THE KEY IS THE HEAVY DUTY METERIAL,with the perfect lenght to the knees,these shorts are worth every penny,please don't be like me,I've purchased a $16.00 swim shorts and those shorts was not worth it,So spend your 40/60 dollars shorts,and you see and feel the difference,I just have to buy another!!

First and foremost, I do not get paid to write reviews. I also did not receive this product for free in exchange for a good review.These are some heavy duty shorts. They are not cheaply made at all. All of the pockets come in handy as you can wear these at the lake, in the pool or on a boat fishing. They even have the pocket for pliers/cutters.The only drawback is that either you have to go commando or wear underwear with these shorts because they lack the mesh. I know if you're in a public pool, sometimes they get a bit weird about people wearing underwear with their swimwear.Overall, a great product that I hope will last for years.

I purchased these Men's Board Shorts in Royal Blue for my husband. We have an upcoming trip to Hawaii and he needed some shorts that would go well between the water and land. He wore them for all our pool trips this summer and they have held up well with the chlorine and washings. I assume they will hold up with the elements of Hawaii too! The color is very vibrant and the pocket is very convenient. My husband prefers his shorts and swim trunks to go below the knee and these shorts did just that. The Board Shorts arrived in a timely manner as expected and they also offer free returns if needed!

Fit true to size. Waist is not stretchy, which I like, and the drawstring/velcro fly is just like every other name brand boardshort.Pockets are excellent! Rare to find board shorts that can be worn like regular shorts meaning being able to carry your wallet, keys, phone, etc. Liner in the hip pocket is great so things don’t poke through.Recommend you give them a try if you’re in the market for some new swimmin shorts!

I love these shorts because I can live in them on surf trips. I now have 4 pairs, 2x gray, one royal blue and one gray camo.They are the only boards shorts I have with more than one pocket. Once I am out of the water I can spend the day in these shorts with a pockets for my cell phone, money, glasses and keys. They are extremely durably I have one pair I have been wearing for almost two years now, and I wear them a lot to workout in too.The only thing I might recommend to make them even better would be to make them 4-way stretch so they would be more comfortable surfing. I still sometimes wear my 4-way stretch shorts to surf in then change into these to kick around the rest of the day and into the evening. But don't get me wrong, they are fine to surf in and dry quickly. So I am still giving them 5 stars.

I thought that for the price and the images, they would be more thick and rugged. That is why I put 4 stars instead of 5.These will be my goto shorts for this summer for sure. Like I said, I thought they were pretty thick and rugged but it's the absolute opposite witch is actually a better thing for me as I like to get in the water a lot and these will dry very fast! The interior is very soft and comfortable and feel absolutely no itchy seams anywhere. Im always scared to order clothing online because sizing isn't always accurate. Well these are exactly the size that you would expect. The length is perfect to be standing and sitting often when fishing on a boat so you won't have to do the 'pull-up' move when sitting down.And now, the main reason I bought these, is they look amazing!
