After studying and applying the steps from “Learning to See” this book walks you through how to optimize flow by creating flow cells using lean thinking and lean tools. This is highly educational if you are new or not as familiar as you’d like to be in cell design, line balancing, and Standard Work.

Creating Continuous Flow, like the other manuals in the collection, present realistic templates for carrying out particular improvement efforts. I do appreciate the level of detail they go through, and the books do have a 'realistic' style about them (in other words, it doesn't come across as being taught by some 'smarter-than-you' professor). Also like the format and quality of the books (though, I do feel they are a bit over-priced). Readers have to keep in mind that it would be near impossible for the authors to write a complete, comprehensive, manual covering every possible scenario. Instead, the authors present a decent template that you can morph to your particulr needs. It also helps to know that not every work environement can be made into continuous flow (yes, it's ideal... but not realistic until new and better technologies are created - especially for 'Monument' processes). I highly recommend the entire series.
