I have been using Korean cleaning oils for years to remove sunblock and makeup on my face. I don’t really care for the messy oil to run all over my face, arms, and sink but tolerate it because it was the only way to remove all trace of sunblock off my face. With Clinique’s take the day off charcoal cleansing balm the process is more controlled and less messy. It is also very effective in removing all trace of stubborn sunblock and makeup. I also noticed I no longer get any breakouts on my face like I use to occasionally when I used cleansing oils.

I ordered this by mistake as I usually use the balm version of this. It cleans well and unlike the balm, it leaves no residue on the face. Takes off makeup very well, even mascara. You do not have to use a lot either. You are left with a super clean feel.I’m not used to using charcoal products but it tends to leave a mess on sink, counter etc, even when I’m careful. You have to rinse it or wipe it off throughly. Sometimes I can go back over and still see black on my cloth.

It really does deep clean the skin. Not leaving it oily and product past me a long time. I use it for show make up.

Same great makeup remover from Clinique - this time with charcoal. Stick to dark facecloths for washing off though.

I don't know why a charcoal based cleanser is so calming and nourishing but this is. It feels so good to take my makeup off with it. A little goes a long way. I'm so glad I found it

Not sure why there are so many negative reviews. Its exactly the same as the original remover its just charcoal color. It has the same smell and performs the exact same as original.

This charcoal one isn’t nearly as good as the balm clear one! Very disappointed with this one and will be switching back.

Does a decent job as a precleanser removing most of my sunscreen & makeup, but you really have to work at it to remove waterproof mascara, which can take longer than i’d like for pre-cleansing. I’ve used other less expensive cleansing oils that do a better job, so I wouldn't repurchase.

I am an avid clinique user product removes makeup with out irritation, i have major alergies and have had no reaction to this. Wish they still had the non charcoal version. I hate the black
