What can I say, he's a pro.
I frequently order these for a buddy. He is a pro audio and video guy, and this is the only type he uses. I am not going to argue with the pro, so they must be good.

Truly a superior product
Forget "gold" or millennium discs, this is the real deal. Superb quality discs that are actually made by Taiyo Yuden, the premier manufacturer of blank DVD today. Every disc I used has burned perfectly as full speed. no errors, no coasters, no fuss no muss. One of the biggest scams is that blank burnable optical discs are not made by the company whose name is on the product label. To make it worse, often the actual manufacturer changes with differing batches. The only way to know what disc yo are receiving, regardless of label, is to read the manufacturer code that is embedded in each disc. These discs identified themselves as TYG03, which are actually made by Taiyo Yuden, exactly what I was looking for.As for longevity, no disc has failed yet. I lend these discs to my friends so they get handled a lot, passed around from household to household and we have not experienced even one failure. A first for me and one that makes me very happy. Longevity and reliability is a very controversial subject and I have followed the various theories since the first CD burners became commercially available. There really is no way to know what will work for you unless you give it a serious try. Theories of various dye colors or marketing claims on the label (gold or millennium, etc.) have not and cannot be proven. There is no way to perform advanced aging tests because these products have not been around a long enough time to prove that the "longevity tests" actually work. The clearest point are the hundred or thousand year life discs. How can you prove that anything can last that long without actually having one that is that old to try out. Its ridiculous marketing fluff.Taiyo Yuden has withstood the test of time. They are the actual manufacturer behind many of the "top brands" that folks have raved about for so long. The problem is that those famous brands change batches so one month you might get a great disc, then next month you might get junk. You data is priceless, it cannot be replaced, do yourself a favor and try these discs (preferably in a modern burner from a reputable manufacturer) and hopefully you'll get the same great results that I did.

Still Living up to the TY Reputation for Quality
While the CMC Pro discs are not identical to the original Taiyo Yuden (TY) discs, they are about as close as can be found in the market today. For those not in the industry, TY was considered the highest quality manufacturer of recordable CDs in the world before their factory in Fukushima, Japan had to close as a result of fallout (literally) from the Tsunami and subsequent meltdown of the nearby nuclear plant about ten years ago. TY worked with CMC Pro to transfer the technology to CMC in Taiwan, who began manufacturing the CDs under the CMC Pro brand name. My company has been using this brand since their inception and have never been disappointed. This particular batch performed quite well -- as expected. The manufacturer's digital product code was also present, indicating this batch is genuine. Not only do we never make coasters with this product, in 20 years burning CDs, we have never gotten one back that failed prematurely that was not physically damaged. So, yes, I recommend this product. It is well worth the premium price. Note: For the shiny silver face discs, you will need a professional thermal printer, such as a Rimage Prism to print on the face of the CD.

BEST DVD-Rs I've ever purchased!! (UPDATE Included)
I originally purchased this set of 100 DVD-Rs back in 2018; here is my two-year review:(2018) I lost twenty years of photographs, documents, family portraits, artwork, video, etc., when my external hard drive crashed on me. * SUPER LONG Story short, I found a Youtuber who professionally experienced in moving data from a broken hard drive onto another platform for temporary retrieval, he is known as "Theoria Apophasis" — he's very informative and knows what he is talking about. He HIGHLY recommended these particular discs for permanent storing, so I purchased them.(2020) I've been using these DVD-Rs for two years now, storing countless important photoshoots/videos on them, and I have not had one single problem with them at all. They are the BEST DVD-Rs I have ever used and I'll only continue to purchase these specifically. They burn data quickly on my Macbook Pro, and if I needed to go back and copy an image or video back on to my desktop, there were no issues whatsoever.ANY wedding photographer, artist, or person who wants to archive special content safely and efficiently, needs to purchase these discs. External hard drives are built for temporary storage only and they WILL crash. Don't make the same mistake I did; be smart and make the time to actually archive correctly, you won't regret it.
