88083 ProTac 2L-X USB 500-Lumen 68,000-Candela Tactical LED Flashlight, Ten-TAP Programmable, Box, Black

I've had this flashlight with the rechargeable USB Streamlight battery since August 2019 (3/1/23 Now) I've had it on my person every single day for the past 3 and a half years and use it very often/multiple times a day, every day. Finally last week when I turned it on, it would immediately go dim and die in 1 second. I charged the battery, it showed green (fully charged) and did the same thing. After buying a new Streamlight SL-B26 Rechargeable USB Battery, the flashlight worked perfectly again. (Yes this is the same battery and will fit) As you can see my flashlight has been through hell and back and is still as durable, reliable, and bright as the first day I got it. I love this little baby! 😁 The clip has stayed on and strong, maybe pinched it closed tighter with pliers for a tighter fit once or twice, so that days alot about its strength and durability. (Dual direction clip BTW/Hangs bezel down or up/As well as clipping on your hat brim or shoulder) the cap still holds a great seal (Also has a small hole in the top cap that you can attatch string or some other way to connect it to your body or wherever for extra security. Ive done this before using fishing line to prevent the flashlight from getting snagged completely off my body and getting lost, especially if its loud and dark, you wouldnt even know you dropped it until you need it most) and the glass/plastic window the light shines through has stayed intact without any scratches or breaking at all thanks to its durability and the bezel. This flashlight is a workhorse and shines SO bright, plus you get the 3 functions. This is my go to and it's part of my EDC (Everyday Carry). I don't go anywhere without it. If you are a firearm carrier, a flashlight is a must have. If you don't carry, it's a must have. This flashlight has saved my life and wellbeing so many times plus the times I didn't even realize it's saved my butt, I couldn't even imagine the number of times this flashlight has had my back. Amazing quality and an amazing price. P.S. Rechargeable USB battery is the way to go, just stick with Streamlight brand so you KNOW you have the best operating system. A flashlight will save your life, literally, and all the way to "Oh darn I dropped something lemme get my light out, to camping, to power outage, the possibilities are endless, and this is the flashlight I trust my life with. ❤️ Well done and thank you Streamlight.

Perfect size for every day carry, work (I'm an airframe mechanic and this by far is better to use than those larger streamlights). Fits in the hands better. Easy to draw from a pocket. Fits in tight spots to light the work area. I've had this since 2022, using streamlight batteries. No failures. Dropped i don't know how many times on concrete hangar floors from various heights. Shows it's age, wear on the finish I'm not impressed with but in general a reliable, bright, idiot proof, bullet proof light. Worth the cost. Get 1 !

Have bought 4 of these so far. I buy one every couple years. Have never broken one yet but they occasionally get lost which is why I replace. Carried in my pocket every day. Use it every day. Gets put on my welding helmet all the time at work. The lens gets scratched up pretty easily and weld spatter sticks to it and tears it up quick. Wish the sold a disposable lens cover. The light is super bright sk it really doesn't matter that the lense gets scratched up if shines right through it. The batteries last about 6 months of daily recharging before i need to buy new ones. I usually keep 4 batteries on hand that I cycle throughout the week.

I ordered the 2L-X USB on the recommendation of a very experienced security professional and John Lovell of the Warrior Poet Society's product review - neither one of them let me down. The Pro-Tac is, literally, "hurt your eyes" bright, while being small & lightweight enough to my everyday carry gear as a security officer with very little notice. The holster that came with it, as well as the included pocket clip give one a good deal of options on how best to carry it. The USB rechargeable battery has almost paid for itself already instead repeated purchases of lithium batteries that can be expensive when not on sale. One big advantage that the Streamlight has over similar lights, is that you can program it so that it does the main feature you want it to do, instead of cycling through the 3 or 4 functions of Bright/Low?Strobe that other manufacturers require you to do each time you use them, though the 2L-X DOES have those options as well.. I chose the Bright non-strobe setting, and I get it every time I press the button, which is recessed in the tail cap to help reduce accidental powering. The lens bezel has a slim profile not much larger than the main tube, not the much larger one like on a Surefire (which I also considered) and that helps a lot for pocket carrying. The 500 lumen beam makes the 2L-X an ideal non-lethal defense tool for those who can't carry more obvious "weapons". In a confrontation, you could temporarily blind an attacker, giving you a chance to move laterally or run away without being seen, or the risks associated with something like pepper spray that can come back on the user. It's also difficult to build up a resistance to such as bright light. It could also be used as an impact weapon similar to a Kubotan, and both ends have scalloped cutouts that can be "DNA collectors" in the possibility of later legal actions. I strongly urge anyone needing a defensive, tactical flashlight to seriously consider the Streamlight Pro-Tac 2lX-X USB - you Won't be disappointed.

This review is for the ProTac 2L-X I really like most things about this light. I'd been buying cheap lights that advertise as 1000 lumen or more that have much brighter xml-t6 bulbs. Comparing them to this light, they're not any brighter. I believe this light to be more efficient or maybe the T6's being used by the cheapest flashlights are under-performing to where they're about 500 as this light actually is. The Ten-tap is awesome and works flawlessly. I do have a couple gripes that would be easy for Streamlight to correct that I'll list at the bottom for easy reading. Pros: Ten-tap works perfect 500 lumen is probably accurate and equal to the suposed 1000 lumen of the cheap lights size and weight is great for edc cons: light will not tail stand. The button is inset like it was meant to but the rubber sticks out about 1/8 inch too far. the contact for the positive end of the battery is flat so some 18650 batteries will not work without adding some solder to them The clip interferes with removing the switch for battery charging/swapping. I don't use it but if you do, it's annoying These 3 cons could easily be corrected with inexpensive adjustments.

The ProTac 2L-X has quickly become my favorite flashlight. The machining quality, anodization, and general fit and finish are all excellent. You can tell that it's quality as soon as you pick it up. The tail switch has longer travel than other lights, and this makes it much easier to use the momentary function to cycle through modes without accidentally clicking it on at a brightness level you don't want. Programming is relatively easy with clear instructions, and once you have it on the configuration that you want, it's a breeze to operate. I have mine on Low-High for simplicity and EDC usage. The light tailstands easily, and the clip is excellent. This is the first 18650-sized light that I can comfortably carry in my pocket because of how deep the clip is. You can actually put it on a baseball cap too, although it looks pretty ridiculous because of the size. I find the light output to be adequate and the runtimes to be excellent. No, it does not put out as many lumens as comparably-sized lights, but it delivers almost as much but with much longer runtimes*. I personally find this to be much more useful. Some 1000 lumen lights will throw light farther than I can clearly see, and they burn through batteries like crazy. This light shines plenty far but is much more efficient with its runtimes. My only real complaint is the color of the light. It's not cool white like most LEDs, but it's not really neutral white either - it's more of a yellowish tint. This is a really minor complaint as I can still see everything just fine, it just distorts certain colors a little bit. Overall, the ProTac 2L-X is excellent, and if you are considering a purchase then you won't be disappointed. *500 lumens vs 1000 lumens seems like a giant difference, but the human eye perceives light logorithmically, not linearly. In layman's terms, this means that even though on paper it's a big difference, visually it is much, much smaller.

I had to get a light to replace my Surefire D3FT and quickly. I didn't really feel like dropping another few hundred on a light so I started looking at more budget friendly options. This thing has been great. It's very bright, the flood is nice and wide for illuminating trails in the dark, and the hotspot is great for reaching out when trying to spot something a decent distance away. You can comfortably see about 50yds away with this light on high, which for a handheld light should be more than enough. Rather lightweight in the hand, but feels very sturdy and durable. I wouldn't push my luck as far as I would with a SureFire, but it's held up to the normal abuse an EDC light normally would see with no issues whatsoever. The "ten-tap" programmable button is a nice luxury to have, but frankly I normally just run the light on the high only function. Overall thoughts are, I haven't felt the need to replace this light with a higher end one as it is getting the job done just as well so far. I highly recommend you pick one up if you're considering it.

If you are a pilot, this is (35 years flying) without a doubt the best flashlight I have purchased. Aviators know we have a flashlight thing and it is very important. I wear it in the pouch that came with it everywhere and use it all the time. Working on my Jeep, in a dark area or whatever. Preflight is so much better. Small enough to easily climb around on an aircraft if needed and still keep balance. One nice thing about it, the pocket clip is bi-directional meaning you can clip it up or down. Look closely at the pics they provide. The rechargeable battery, where you simply plug the cord into the battery is a nice touch! Even has a red (charging) / green (charged) light on the "+" end of the battery. Battery life is about 6 hours best I can tell. I charge it every M/W/F to ensure I never have a dead battery. Any USB adapter will charge it just fine. Highly recommend for airplane/helicopter pilots! Great Gift for a pilot as well!

Probe con otra batería recargable 18650, funciona, pero le queda un poco chica, la original es un poco más grande por el sistema de carga USB. Jale un poco el resorte de la tapa, "cuidando de no desoldarlo", ajusto mejor y funcionó bien.
