No the seller told me it's just one. Extremely misleading item title.

are these the buildable series?

no. Sadly the description is misleading. Its just a regular blind box. They mean to "build" your collection. It mad me VERY disappointed when i ordered it i thought it was something totally different.

what is steve holding?

We ended up buying some of these surprise minecraft boxes from a local store at a much better price. My son got that Steve, it's a wooden pick axe. (This is not an actual assortment. You only get one surprise box containing one figure, per order)
