Im a guy and I have thick curly hair almost like an afro. Will this make it a little more straight?

My hair is curly, and I do notice that when I don't use this shampoo (out of town for 3 wks now), the old ways tend to come back. At this moment I'm realizing this product works better for my particular (white guy French/Engl/Hungarian descent) weird & curly hair than I had realized. I will never again leave out of town for 3 weeks without it. Doesn't work overnight. Takes a few weeks to show results, but worth it for my particular top mop.
