Life saver. Best money I have spent.
This is a lifesaver for anyone that has to take important medication at set intervals. Highly recommended and has worked perfectly since day 1 over 9 months ago and going strong. I would give this more stars if I could. Highly recommended.

Great for people with alzheimers
Bought this for my mum, This is just perfect for people with Alzheimer's , alarm goes off to remind them pills due, it's lockable and only opens when alarm goes and and set time. Brilliant product, so pleased.

Very good with a few niggles (read on ...)
I bought this for my mother who has Alzheimer's. It is quite difficult to program, but OK once you get the hang of it. The options are very versatile - just don't lose the instructions !Good points: 1) light and sound alarms, 2) lockable, 3) choice of clear or opaque lid, 4) multiple dispensing options available.I chose the clear lid so I could easily see if it needed refilling or if a dose has been missed - and I figured I could cover/spray paint it later if needed.Snags: 1) the sound alarm is not loud enough - mum does not hear it unless her hearing aides are in, 2) other reviewers have reported it sticking between compartments and displaying "error" - this has indeed happened to ours. However it seems to be dust from the pills collecting underneath the carousel. Cleaning the tray and the bottom of the carousel eliminated this problem. 3) Depending on the state of the patient it might be necessary to tape up the battery compartment (pity this isn't also lockable - some items secure the battery compartment lid with a screw)Would I recommended it - most definitely yes. Much better than the matrix compartments for someone who loses track of time and days. I have used it for about 6 months and so far only one dose has been missed - compared to multiple doses, doubling up etc. using the old method.

Not reliable
Bought this for my father who has dementia it is superb when it works but about once a week it gets stuck and alarms all night. Not reliable and then when it arrived there was no disks to label the days or medication intervals. Cannot get any reply from the company selling this product. Very disappointing and unreliable but if it worked would be brilliant product.

Sad but they are cunning
If for a dementia person, they will without a doubt be able to break into it. They are cunning and deceitful people and will go out of their way to make it work for them, not their fault at all, don't get me wrong, it is what they do. At least at times it works for dementia people. Sad but they are cunning, lying people. Not their fault. This product really does not stop them breaking into it and taking more than they should or throwing it across the room and breaking it. Such is dementia life. We have to live with it, SAD

Working Perfectly...
Working perfectly...3 mos so far. Purchased for loved one who is able bodied; however has Dementia and is tech-challenged. Only takes 3 meds, same time, daily.PROS:1. NO Wi-Fi; I have a ceiling camera to monitor that it works and that my loved one takes the medication.2. Locks; otherwise, the meds would be consumed all in one day!3. Small & Quiet when it dispenses4. The chime/message is perfect for a small condo or apartment. Otherwise, I'd need to place next my loved one's favorite lounging spot.5. Clear top! Great for monitoring without opening6. Easy to programCONs1. Unit design is awkward to open once it's unlocked. The locking device itself seems ok.Suggestions:a) revisit the latch to open the unitb) The "locked" and "unlocked" icons should be a Constrasting Color (not just embossed) and Larger.2. ONLY ONE KEY3. People with Dementia get easily confused.Problems:A) Dispenses meds into small cavity;B) Must look directly over the unit to see the pills when they are dispensed into a small cavity;C) If a dementia patient forgets to "turn the unit over" AND doesn't readily "see" the pills, meds are missed;D) AND cannot easily fish them out of the small cavity when if a dementia patient forgets the need to turn the unit over, medicati ok ns are missed.E) Can move it or even throw it away. F) dementia patients can forget that the container needs to be turned over and therefore;a) miss doses orb) doubles up on doses orc) drops them when turning over (the pet or others in the house could ingest them)Suggestions:1) design so meds are dispensed into a small tray so meds are visible. Chime stops when pressure is applied in removing meds. *Although, easy to break off if dropped.*2) Have sticky feet on unit to "deter" moving it, but still be able to pick to refill the meds. *It would need to dispense differently* or3) have a mountable frame to clip the unit into and have the meds dispense into a removable tray or a tray (tray needs to be bright and highly identifiable) that could fold away.4. Batteries ONLY... need the option for plug... have both power options on the unit.5. Battery level indicator.

reputable vendor and good product
I waited to use for a few weeks before I provided a review. This is working very well for my folks with cognitive issues. It does require learning so some reasoning skills are required. I would highly recommend as an alternative to blister packs. Product has reduced my concern significantly about medication being taken on regular basis. The alarm is not extremely loud but the light feature makes it versatile for those with hearing loss. Very quick delivery and excellent customer service from this vendor (thank you).I had to order this a second time a year later. the first one died. so while being a great idea, i expect it might not have a long life. still worth the money in my opinion

A very useful device for the elderly folks taking medicines.
I love this product. It's helpful for caregiver giving pills to elderly. One improvement required is to provide a flap or a sliding cover for the Dispense Opening as a safe gaurd for spill and hygiene.

Echt super....
