Used in enclosure
Perfect and as expected. I got this pcie 3x4 SSD because it was intended for an external enclosure maxing out at 10 Gbps, so I skipped over 4x4 drives and saved some cash. Even better value as prime day buy. Right now, I'm getting a transfer speed of about 320 Megabytes a second in a 15-year-old laptop or so with a 1TB sata SSD. No complaints. This came with an extra screw and optional heat dissipation pads and a screwdriver. Great for newbs, but I didn't need them. Drive is lightly warm after 10 mins, but it's a metal enclosure. Got cool pretty quick after transfer finished, so great build quality.

From Slow HDD, SATA SSD to Lightning-Fast 3.0 M.2 SSD - Personal Review of the ORICO NVMe SSD
REVIEW UPDATED AS OF: august 15th 2025 Upon unboxing the ORICO NVMe SSD, the first thing that stands out is the integrated heatsink. It's a solid, well-built piece of hardware that immediately gives you confidence in its ability to handle thermal management. For any M.2 SSD, especially one advertising speeds of up to 3100MB/s, keeping temperatures in check is crucial for sustained performance and longevity. I intend on installing it on B550 Gaming-F Motherboard compatibility isn't an issues most M.2 SSDs are universal. 56$ for 1TB well worth the money! once installed i'll give an update on it's performance. INSTALLED! august 15th 2025 - M.2 SDD IS A BEAST I CAN'T BELIEVE I BEEN MISSING THIS TYPE OF SPEED AND PERFORMANCE ALL MY LIFE! The moment I installed the ORICO NVMe SSD m.2 1TB, I knew I had unlocked a new level of performance. It's like going from a leisurely stroll to a full-on sprint. The difference isn't just noticeable—it's game-changing. First boot after the installation? The Windows logo appeared and then, almost instantly, the desktop was there, ready to go. No more splash screen, no more spinning loading circles. It was pure, unadulterated speed! Launching applications now feels instantaneous. World War Z which used to make me grab a coffee while it loaded, is now up and running in a matter of seconds. My games—World War Z, DC Universe Online, Hitman-Absolution, and others—load so fast I barely have time to read the loading screen tips. In short, the ORICO NVMe SSD m.2 1TB hasn't just improved my computer's performance—it's fundamentally changed the way it processes. The frustration of waiting is gone, replaced by a smooth, seamless, and lightning-fast computing experience. If you're still on an HDD or even a SATA SSD and you're considering an upgrade, don't hesitate. This is the one you need!!

Fast low cost 2TB SSD
Great SSD. As described. Speed as described —-initially. While transferring around 860 GB it got pretty warm; almost hot to the touch, and transfer speed slowed down significantly. Initially about 400 GBps to around 40 GBps when hot. This was transfer from another SSD, so speed includes read speed from onE and write speed to this ORICO SSD using USB C 3 interface. 2TB storage is good for price. Installation in interface was simple and easy.

Good value for money drive for basic use cases
For secondary storage this drive is fine, no dram and for light tasks as a media scratch disk its kept up. Not the fastest as it has no dram, especially in an usb enclosure where hmb doesn't exist. I would recommend Oricos own M2PV-C3 enclosure as it has a large heatsink as this drive does get quite warm at times, just make sure to update the firmware. The clear plastic kinds with smaller heatsink surface area for looks such as the TCM2-C3 will not suffice. The TCM2-C3 ran at 57C, the M2PV-C3 ran at 51C, more acceptable, but still the hottest of all my drives where the norm is closer to 25-40C. Even my internal 980 pro only runs at 40C. Its not a bad thermister reading as it feels unusually warm to the touch when in the TCM2-C3, its more reasonably warm in the M2PV-C3, I think insufficient cooling is the major cause of any premature failures, but so far so good as its survived being written to several times over already as a download drive.

Low cost but reasonably fast storage. Not compatible with PlayStation 5.
I'm using this in an external housing to backup my computers and transfer files. Capacity is 1TB using the 1000 bytes equal 1 Kb standard drive manufacturers use. It is reasonably fast when transferring files, though I haven't done any benchmarks. I later tested on a PlayStation 5. It is NOT compatible with a PlayStation 5.

Needs the included heatsink (66C -> 49C)
First day ownership. 1st installed w/o the heatsink and ran a Crystaldiskmark 512mb (2 cycle) test. Temp in crystaldiskinfo immediately shot up to 66C. Per the box, 70C is the top of the operating temperature range. It may have gotten higher during the test (I didn't realize CDinfo had a refresh timer on the temp). I then shut down and installed the included heatsink. This was pretty easy if you have steady hands to place the thermal pads and then pinch the assembly together with the SSD in the middle. Positioning is important (don't have the heatsink too far one way or it will block the screw on one side or M.2 pins on the other), luckily you can re-position things and it doesn't damage the thermal pads. Then, I re-ran Crystaldiskmark and temps went to 46C initially and I refreshed CDinfo often and saw a peak temp of only 49C during the whole test. Much better! Performance was slightly up, too. Went from 2900 read to 3100 with heatsink. Write performance was 1900. So far, I'm pleased. Will be a secondary game drive. One head scratcher... It started with zero GB written. I ran the 2 Crystaldiskmark 512mb tests (2 cycle selected) before and after installing the heatsink and total writes is already (somehow) at 154GB which seems inflated. This is not my OS drive.. I had done nothing else with the drive but those two tests. I'll continue to monitor this as I read and write to the drive. Maybe this is normal for Crystaldiskmark testing?

It works well with Ivanky Mac Mini M4 Dock
I needed an additional SSD for my Mac Mini M4, and I already had an IVANKY 13-in-1 Mac mini M4 Dock. so I bought this SSD for that slot. I have added it to my TimeMachine backup, and I am using it to store files I want to back up on a regular basis. My backup drive is a Samsung T7. I would have bought a larger SSD, but the prices are insanely high, and a 512gb SSD was in my price range, and would store all I currently need to store and leave room for growth. The Orico seems well built and came with two flexible heat strips, and two heatsync covers. One was called the Aluminum heatsync and the other was a thicker ridged heatsync, painted black, that they called the "Copper Heatsync". But to me, it felt like the "copper" heatsync was painted aluminum, but in truth, I really don't. know how the weight of copper should compare to aluminum. The "copper" heatsync was too large to work with the flexible strips and the SSD and allow me to close the SSD port. But the "aluminum" heatsync was the right size to allow the SSD port to be closed. The English instructions were pretty good for a set of instructions coming from China, and I had no problem seeing how this should work. It also came with a screwdriver, and an extra port screw. On the whole, I am pleased with my purchase, and will consider ORICO SSDs when this particular SSD is full. I believe I can recommend this to others.

Velocissimo e affidabile!
