Strong & Silent Type--workhorse motor that runs in near silence
I've been tumbling rocks for a while now and have used several different brands over the years (Nat Geo, and 2 other generic Amazon brands). I finally caved and bought this 7lb capacity dual barrel to expand my operation and felt compelled to write a review as it's been about a month since this bad boy arrived on my doorstep. PROS: 1. NOISE DAMPENING Unlike every other tumbler on the market that purports to be "quiet", this is genuinely the first tumbler I've ever used that not only runs quietly by default *without* the plastic lid covering, but also provides a lid for additional noise dampening that genuinely works. The noise generated by rock tumblers comes from two sources: the motor, and the rocks themselves tumbling against each other. This tumbler addresses both arenas by utilizing a powerful but quiet motor, and barrels that are thicker than your average tumbler. Combined with the noise dampening lid cover, this is by far the most quiet and unobtrusive tumbler on the market. You could easily run it in your bedroom and not be disturbed by the noise. 2. CAPACITY This is a 7lb *combined* capacity set, meaning each barrel has a 3.5lb capacity. I mention this because in the past I have ordered tumblers that claim to have 3.5lb capacities but in practice fit half the amount of rocks as one of the barrels on the Koolstone C1. I appreciate honest marketing, and want to support brands that are candid with their customers. 3. DESIGN This appears to be a very well made tumbler from top to bottom. The motor, housing, barrels, and control pad are all expertly designed. Even the interior and exterior lids and ergonomic twist tops are an improvement from the industry standard black wheel style twist tops, which can be hard on the hands and difficult to grip, especially while wearing gloves. Despite being a dual 7lb barrel, it appears intentionally designed to take up as little space as possible, which is an intuitively consumer focused design that is rare these days. I also appreciate the aesthetic option to choose between orange and blue. 4. MOTOR Tto continuously rotate a 7lb dual barrel, you're going to need a real workhorse of a motor inside the housing. Often, brands cheap out by using a standard motor, which fails to effectively reach the higher speeds. Or, they use a powerful motor that sacrifices sound quality for power output. I'm genuinely impressed by the quality of the motor and its ability to run at all speeds while remaining QUIET. CONS: 1. Not really a con so much as wishful thinking, but I do wish there was an option to set different timers or speeds for each barrel. Unfortunately this would require 2 internal motors, which would likely sacrifice the other benefits (sleek frame, quiet motor, etc). I honestly had to reach a bit for a con on this machine but I try to give thorough, fully weighted reviews SUMMARY: This is by far the best, and the QUIETEST of any tumbler I've used to date. It is well worth the money and I highly recommend!

Good value, works great, quiet, durable. Great anniversary gift lol
Its actually really quiet by far the quietest tumbler I've ever been around. My wife loves it. Been running it 24/7 for at least 30 days. The rubber drums that hold the rocks and media with water are very easy to open and close and are nice and leakproof. Haven't had a single drop leak out. And works good too. Holds a good amount in each one of the 2 drums. Together with my wife we have had fun opening it up and cleaning between stages to see the progress. The entire device seems nice and durable the drums especially are tough. Super easy to use. Great value compared to others we looked at. And has 4 rubber feet to help reduce vibration making it nice and stable.

IQuite opreration with included lid.
Great item for the price. Works just as well as more costly tumblers.

Great
Great machine for polishing rocks I’ve been using this rock tumbler for a few months now and I’m really happy with it. It’s quiet enough to run in the garage without driving everyone crazy, and the rubber barrels seal well with no leaks so far. I like that it has two barrels so I can run different stages or different rocks at the same time. The results have been excellent once I got the hang of the process. Rough stones come out smooth and shiny after the full grit sequence. Setup was simple, and it’s been running reliably day after day.

Belt needed replaced after one run
Loaded up both barrels and it ran quietly for the one cycle (grit #1). Mid way through grit #2 it stopped turning. I took off one barrel and it started working again. After a week it stopped working with one barrel. The wheels turned without barrels so I used some other smaller barrels I had and it worked on those. It’s been working with smaller barrels and lighter load. A note on the belt access panel reads to replace the belt if the barrels do not turn. It’s unusual to have to replace the belt after just one run? It’s possible I went over the 7 lb limit? I didn’t weigh them, but I will in the future after I figure out how to replace this tight ribbed belt. Might have to remove the tensioner to replace the belt; it’s similar to a car belt and does not stretch. I’ll still give this a 4 star but it’s extremely quiet and my load may have exceeded weight? I will follow-up this review after replacing the belt and weighing the barrels prior to use.

Polishes hard stones to my satisfaction
Hubby polishes up all my rocks with this compound. They always look so good. Here’s a batch from the Pacific coast of Colombia where all sorts of interesting rocks are given up by the Andes.

No where near as loud as you'd think
Amazingly quiet. I was expecting a loud invasive sound of rolling rocks but it's more like a rumbling creek bed. I have it in the garage but it could have easily been left in the house, it is not at all disruptive in the noise level. You can hear it, it's not silent, it's just not anywhere near as loud as I was prepared for. Very easy to use, we are first time rock tumblers. Loading it and starting is super easy. Seems like a very well made machine, doesn't take up much space, and comes with great customer support. Looking forward to this first batch of rocks/gems to be done (3 more weeks UGH!)

Does not honor warranty and is not registered with the Better Business Bureau
This tumbler was running like nothing ive ever seen loved it but after only less than three months my front roller just stopped working and I contacted customer support only to be told to fix it myself that it was a slipping belt I told them I already did all troubleshooting myself belt runs perfect it is the roller that has broken im supposed to have a one year warranty no offer to fix or replace terrible customer service and its a shame it was a wonderful product but i will not be purchasing here again also on top of them ignoring my warranty I just found out that they’re not even registered to the Better Business Bureau so you can’t even file a complaint there, but I have made sure the Federal Trade Commission is aware of all of this. I have been scammed and I am livid. That is my money that I earned that does not need to be stolen. All I wanted was a Repair or a replacement. It’s not so hard to ask for that. Update I was told that I would get sent some belts to see if that was the issue which it was the issue but I had to purchase the belts because they never sent them. I waited over a month for belts that never arrived so they do not honor their warranty whatsoever. Be careful.
