Great knife but be careful learning how to use it.
A very nice compact pocket knife. It is easily clipped to my pocket and available when needed. Does not make a bulge in my pocket or prevent removing other objects. The blade is extremely sharp and the right size for general use.I have had several other SOG knives and know they need to be worked for a while to smooth out the works. Be very careful when doing this. If you have no experience with SOG opening assist really be careful. It is quite easy to cut yourself when learning how to open this knife and smoothing the action. It won't take long and you will be able to reliably open this knife with one hand. Until you are reliably getting full open and locked check before using to prevent the sharp blade closing on your fingers.

This knife has a specific purpose.
I’ve had the knife for 4 years now and carry almost every day. If you are a blue collar guy or retired and wear jeans everyday I wouldn’t bother with this one. I have several SOGs and like them all. My favorites are the Trident and the Slim Jim. This is so light and thin you literally forget you’re carrying it. I wear it with slacks or shorts. Because it’s so light and thin it’s not as easy to flick open but that comes with the light weight! It’s wicked sharp and holds an edge. No I would use this one to pry and beat on but that’s not what it’s for. It’s for cutting and is certainly competent for self defense. When I wear jeans I carry a heavier knife like the Trident. It’s easier to flick open and is much thicker and easier to manipulate. Blade is thicker as well. If you work in an office and want to have a lightweight super tough bulletproof knife, the Slim Jim is for you.

Excellent knife
I love this knife. It was very sharp upon arrival, and I have since sharpened it to a razor. It holds an edge very well, and is responsive to quick touch-ups on the blade.I was initially peeved by the opening mechanism. It can be difficult to see the blade open fully with the assisted action; it tends to get stuck halfway. Not only is this frustrating, it's a safety concern.Fret not. Be careful to use (or purchase if you have none) a cleaning solution and an oil/lubricant. Gun cleaner and lubricants work well. I have never had a knife open so buttery smooth, so consistently, with such a small amount of effort. You merely press on the thumb knob and it locks open immediately, no flick or user assistance is required. I can open it so quickly after taking it out of my pocket that people ask if it's a switch.I believe the un-lubricated difficulty opening has to do with the tolerances within this knife. It is CRAZY thin and short for a 3+ inch blade, and it has zero wobble or flex. It tucks away in a pocket without notice. It is light enough you won't think it's there, but feels weighty and strong in the hand. It is in fact very strong, I use this as a daily carry knife and it gets used in all forums. I drop it, get food on it, sit on it or what have you on a regular basis. Not a nick, no bending, no corrosion.I could see the Twitch 2 by SOG being a better knife overall. Handle thickness is highly prohibitive to me; if my knife is too thick I always find an excuse to leave it at home. So I prefer this one. Consider both of them before you buy.

Easy open, great blade for EDC.
Some reviews may be premature. Takes a few reps to get the right position to flip, if you use your thumb, the force is in the wrong direction. Use the pointer fingertip. Motion is perfectly in line with blade motion, locks every time, and your finger ends angled away from blade. Until you get the hang of it, a tiny flick of the hand will lock it in. Really easy recovery. With the thin handle I found three fingers and thumb to stabilize, pointer finger on the stud so extending finger opens and nothing's in line with the blade should it come back (never has).Gentle flick of the wrist if you need to lock it in. Thumb puts lateral pressure causing it to not fully extend.Safety lock not mentioned in listing. Can snag on pocket so your knife is locked when you pull it out. Needs to stay where you put it. Taking a star for bad design.Drop point has a fine edge grind. Not sharpened, but probably could be... don't push on it hard. Use the teeth to close. Bet this thing will go through a steel drum easily. Can't speak to edge retention yet, but it arrives like a razor.Certainly handy to have around and format makes it easy to have around at all times. If you're wearing pants, you're equipped, but without a bulky and visible blade on the belt.Buying another as a gift.

Terrible! Opens in pocket, rips pockets, stabs hands, and fingers. Useless for every day carry.
The use and function of this knife is the worst I’ve ever encountered. I’ve had over 100 pocket knives. It consistently opens up on its own, the deep pocket clip is amazing, but then it opens up in your pocket and rips your pocket. Including when you go to reach for stabbing your hand, unless you keep it overly locked position. Imagine you make it past all of that if you happen to lean or give too much pressure into the lockback feature of the knife it springs open quickly immediately causing a problem or issue. One of the worst knives I’ve ever used. The design! Incredible! The weight couldn’t be better, but it’s deadly
