ReKon Saltwater Spinning Fishing Reel – Powerful for Big Game

I recently got my hands on the KastKing ReKon Saltwater Spinning Reel, and it's nothing short of a powerhouse. The reel promises a thrilling fishing experience with its robust build and precision engineering, explicitly designed to meet the challenges of saltwater fishing.First, this reel's tactile quality is remarkable. The frame, crafted from a high-tech Nylitech material, offers unmatched stiffness and durability, ensuring this reel is not just a one-season wonder, but a long-term investment. It feels like a tank, yet it operates with the finesse of a sports car, thanks to its finely tuned drag system that can handle up to 55 pounds of resistance. The smoothness of the retrieve is a standout feature. Each handle turn engages a satisfyingly crisp click, and the aluminum handle provides a secure grip that makes casting a breeze. The water-resistant sealing is particularly impressive, which adds a layer of reliability when facing the corrosive nature of saltwater environments. While the reel maintains a fixed anti-reverse system, this design choice simplifies the mechanics. It boosts the reel's reliability under strain—a critical factor when aiming to reel in the big one. The lack of a reverse switch is a minor trade-off for the overall performance and reliability.Pros:It is an exceptionally smooth and strong drag system perfect for big-game fishing.Rugged construction with a Nylitech frame ensures long-lasting use.Ergonomic aluminum handle that enhances comfort and control. The sealed design offers excellent protection against the elements.Cons:Fixed anti-reverse may not suit all fishing styles.

I absolutely love this reel it’s made very well and reels very smooth it’s one of my fav set ups kastkings on of my favorites now

I really love this real. I put 30lb braided on it and casts great. This company is knocking it out if the park for its value.

This reel is decent enough, it'll get the job done. At the end of the day it's still a cheap budget reel. It feels cheap and has a cheap feeling drag system. The bail is nice and sturdy and it does have some texture in the center of the spool to help hold line. If this reel was $20-30 cheaper it would be fantastic, but at this price point I'd rather buy an Okuma Ceymar or wait for a sale on something higher quality.

Nice smooth retriever, and nice looking.

Great reel works as advertised!

This one has different crank than my other capstan. This has cheaper feel to it. And the crank cap went missing day one of using it. It’s ok for the price.

I received a junk reel. The label on it is a Shakespeare reel that I can buy for $15 at Canadian tire. Not impressed. Yes, it was packaged inside a nice stiff Kastking box but the contents are definitely not that.

Reel feels solid and reliable but it was missing the handle. Box was damaged and open due to the canadian customs checking the parcel. will be returning to sender
