I absolutely love my bookshelf!! It's easy to put together, compact if I need to unassemble, love that it is space-saving, beautiful , and purposeful.

Terrible design. The screws do not fit properly on the base, making it very unstable. I was really excited for this but I have to return it. Should’ve listened to the previous reviews

TLDR: Great material, looks great, but poor machining precision, so not sturdy enough for fragile or delicate objects. The Good: First off, the product material is excellent and heavy. The box weighs in around 30-50 lbs. It is an all-metal/aluminum shelf with scratch resistant paint finish too. So there are no complaints in that area. Since the plates and tubes are omnidirectional, you can place the plates in whatever pattern you want. the shelf is extremely versatile. However there are several issues with the structural build that I have. The bad: The design uses rectangular inner beams that provide the support and stiffness, while oval-shaped tubes go over it, with the plates wedged in between holding them in place. This would not be an issue if the actual support beams did not have any wiggle room. But the cutouts for the screws are too wide and allow too much movement laterally even when tightened all the way down. Also, the tubes that go in between the plates are not wide enough to sit flush on the base plate. So there is about a quarter-inch gap where the base beam junction meets the first tube on the bottom. It is ugly to look at and probably makes the tower even more unstable. There should be no reason why they couldn't have made the tubes slightly larger or the base beam smaller to make it flush with the base plate. 2. After assembling everything per the instructions, the end result is a shelf that is too wobbly front to back. Which with how tall it stands, is not good if you plan on putting anything lightweight, delicate, or breakable on it. If you plan on purchasing it I suggest finding some rubber friction pads so things aren't sliding off the metal plates when it shakes or wobbles.

This piece is awesome. so heavy and sturdy, but assembly was straight forward and easy. the shelves dont articulate around the arm the way the Story bookcase does, but I prefer them stacked straight anyways so this is such a good dupe for half the price of the original.

Not a fan of this product. It didn’t stand straight up and tilted. I ended up returning. I would choose a different company.

I love this spine bookshelf. It is not going to hold your entire book collection but it will hold plenty. Holds more than you might think. It is heavy, tall, well-made from heavy metal, and easy to assemble and I LOVE IT! It is one of my few favorite things I own. I have it next to my office door and I leave one shelf empty so when I walk in I have a place to put anything I am carrying. If you want books to be vertical you will need heavy book ends. I have my books piled so no need for book ends. A spine books shelf will not be for everyone but if you like having something that doesn't take up space, is heavy enough that it will not topple over, and has a few books, magazines, etc. that you want where you can grab them quickly than this spine shelf will work.

I bought this bookshelf as a dupe of the Story bookcase from DWR. Unfortunately, it arrived damaged with chipped paint, rusted in multiple areas, and the screws were missing altogether. I'm guessing it was a previous customer return. Really poor quality given the price. I don't recommend buying this.

Came with wrong nuts that were too small for the base screws.
