CAN'T register the protection plan! I have ZERO confidence that the plan will be honored. Look elsewhere!
I purchased this 2-year Assurant protection plan on 3/31/14 with a Linksys wireless router. I received a prompt email from Assurant with my plan confirmation, which informed me to go to their site and register my plan. This is where the company fails BIG TIME!The site is extremely slow, and constantly fails when you enter you contract # and the site searches for the contract. I've tried to do this numerous times, and was NEVER able to register my plan. I am a technical engineer, so this is not a user issue. When you click on Search to find the contract, the site makes you wait several minutes, and then fails with a Proxy error. I used different browsers and computers, and it still failed.I am not comfortable that when it comes time to use the Assurant protection, that they will honor it. It seems to me that they don't want you to register the plan you purchased, so that they can later claim that you did not register the plan. The site is LOUSY. I called Assurant customer service, and although the lady was very nice, she could not help me resolve the problem. She claims to have linked the plan to my Assurant online account that I created, but every time I access my profile on the site, it shows that no contracts are found.I would not use this company again. I will definitely consider a different extended warranty provider on future purchases. It should not be this difficult to register a contract, and to have to waste my time calling customer service. In this review, I selected that the item was not as described because I could not register the plan. If I can't register the plan, I have ZERO confidence that it will be honored. Look elsewhere!

Product Registration
The page for product registration behaved very slowly and erratically.The product for which coverage was purchased was not in the Brand drop down box and so the page would notcontinue to full product registration. At this time I am not sure that the insurance policy I purchased is active?ThanksLeon McClatchey

Who knows the value of an insurance policy until one makes a claim??????
I have no idea if it is worth the paper {my paper by the way, since I had to print it myself} it is printed on, since I have not made a claim yet. And it really is a boiler plate policy, since it does NOT even state anywhere in the policy what product it was purchased for. In fact, only the email that was the "delivery" of this insurance policy stated the information that I am sure Amazon is going to ask for if I make a claim, and no where did they remind me to print this email and keep a copy of it with my "protection plan." It was only when I was writing this review that I realized that I needed to do that too.

Great service
I haven't used it yet. I suppose I don't need it but I bought it anyway because of the simple price. Also I purchased a new My Passport external drive and after a day or two of using it my computer was not recognizing the drive. I called the tech support number of the drive, and they are sending me a new replacement. I yet didn't get to use this insurance but I'm glad either way because it is just added security.

Policy does not cover items purchased for commercial/business purposes!
Don't get fooled into buying this coverage for items purchased to be used for business or commercial purposes. The policy states it will not cover them. THIS SHOULD BE CLEARLY STATED IN AMAZON OFFER. I would venture to guess that the Assurant company makes tens of thousands of dollars on policies purchased by businesses - and then denies their claims.

Hard time
I haven't had the need for using this yet, but setting up the account was difficult. I had to retry at least 5 times as it kept giving me error messages. I almost just said forget it, but remembered that I paid for it!

A good vendor to do business with.
I got this policy for a Lenova DVD recorder/player for my computer. The Lenova unit was lousey, and I sent it back to the vendor. I then didn't need this plan. The plan vendor canceled it and refunded my money with quickness and no hassle. Appears to me to be a good vendor for this type of protection.
