I have a Kamado Joe Classic 2 and one of the first upgrades I wanted was a new ash basket. I didn't want to pay the higher price for the Kick Ash basket and after a bit of research decided on this one. I can't compare it to the Kick Ash basket since I've never owned one but I can say I'm very happy with the performance of this one so I don't need to worry about it. The basket is made of quality materials and feels both solid and durable. It fits my Kamado Joe Classic grill perfectly and has so far provided great value for the money I paid for it. If you want a good ash basket for your Kamado style grill and don't want to pay the higher price of the more popular name brand one then this is a great fit for you.

I have bought many Only Fire items in the past, and this one confirms again. This ash basket is well built and is heavy duty. So much easier to shake this out with remaining lump charcoal, then scooping it out off the charcoal grate.

This is a must have for a Kamado Joe classic. It makes cleaning the ashes after a cook a breeze! Im surprised the kamados don’t already come with this, but man, worth every penny

Game changer for my komodo! Before the temp would peak die to lack of airflow with charcoal sitting on firebox, this elevates the coals to allow air to get after it. Consistent higher and stable temps.

I bought a big Louisiana grill/smoker and needed something to put the hardwood charcoal in while cooking. This one is super sturdy and holds plenty of charcoal but will also accommodate a small amount for those times you only need heat for a couple of hours. I like the fact it has a handle and you can load it up from your large bag of charcoal and then carry it to the grill. When you’re finished you can shake it so that the dust falls off and leaves the unspent charcoal to use next time. Great product and very well made.

I liked the fact of being able to pull out the charcoal from a basket rather than having to scoop it out and it works quite well with getting the fire up and going, great product.

Fit in my BGE perfectly

I bought this to install in my 18" Kamado Joe. It fits best when you remove the factory metal grill at the bottom, but it will fit if you don't take it out too. You may just have to bend the handles on the basket or else deal with your grates being a little higher up. I eventually removed the thick metal grill and airflow is much better. No reason to go back. I used it throughout the winter when it was -20 celcius and when it was 30 degrees above. I notice that when I light a chimney inside, I let it burn for exactly 10 mins and then dump it in and I know the preset airflow settings to dial it in to 225 F within minutes and using this basket helps dial it in quicker than using the standard grill. So if you want to have an easier time lighting your egg BBQ, buy one of these and you won't regret it.

Perfect fit for large BGE, makes fire setup/ash sifting a bit easier. Able to maintain low and slow, or hot and hellish, just like I was without the basket. I’ve used it with the standard grate in place, but it can replace the grate entirely if you prefer to have even more airflow. Solid feel, it’s been through a bunch of sub zero to +500 cycles lately, no issues with quality of material or welds or shape/fit.

So awesome! Got rid of the cast round part on my KJ Classic 2. This makes cleaning and emptying simple. Just lift and shake.
