This native French and mostly traditionalist bakery produces some magnificent traditional cookies, aka *cakes*. The chocolate chips aren't one of those...BUT WAIT!!! This is one of the most handsome tin boxes produced anywhere, in any era. They're quite sturdy, I keep my cheap tiny digital camera and batteries in one of these Art Nouveau era beauties. And I use another for batteries, more.The point of this review is to encourage the Amazon seller of LA MERE POULARD to return these beautiful objets d'art to stock...and keep this great and useful tin in stock. The tin will last a lifetime, and it is great in most any decor.Fragile art supplies, sewing notions, photos, cameras, batteries, even tea. Because no one makes tins anymore, much less, tins this exquisite. PLEASE, S'IL VOUS PLAIT: BRINGEZ ZEM BACK TO NOUS AMERICAINS. WE HEART ZEM!

These are crumbly, thick, yummy cookies with a wonderful buttery taste. If you like Walker shortbread, you will love these, too. These are round, and come in small individual packets of 4 cookies. Inside the tin is an additional sturdy cardboard liner that protects the packets on all sides so that they cannot bounce around too much.The awesome tin is just an added bonus. I am slowly trying out all the different varieties, but in large part also because I simply love these tins. I keep two of those out on my counter top in the kitchen and use them to store teabags. I 100 % recommend them as a treat or a gift for someone special.

These are delicious cookies, and I would love to give them as a gift in the future... however I don't trust that the recipient would receive INTACT cookies if I did. Several of the individually wrapped packets inside of the tin are quite smashed up. Wherever these tins are packaged, they need to add some kind of cushioning beneath the lid of the tin or perhaps revamp the way they are arranged entirely. (That's not Amazon's fault, but it is definitely disappointing.)Silver lining? At least they still taste good. (Seriously, these are the best shortbread cookies I've ever had!)

All butter cookies should taste so good. This is not my first purchase, and it won't be my last. I shopped around and found these and though they seemed a little pricey at first (well worth the price), I tired them and knew these were going to be a staple in our pantry. If you are looking for a butter cookie that is truly rich in flavor these are a great choice.

I loved them but won't order again. The cookies themselves are great and the tin is fantastic! I can think of lots of uses for this very attractive tin. However, since it would seem that neither UPS, USPS or FedEx can ship a package without drop kicking it half the way from the supplier, most of the cookies were broken when they arrived. It's true that amazon.com often packages things poorly and that may have contributed somewhat, also. My last shipment of ginger ale was thrown single can by single can into a bag with another full case of soda. Needless to say they arrived damages and leaking. One might think almost anyone would know better than to ship in that manner but ....... evidently not.So in conclusion, the cookies are great. Just don't plan on serving them at a party as I was hoping to do. It's not a pretty sight.

These are generally very good cookies. The tin is nice, but the cookies arrived slightly stale. They contain a lot of butter and it was definitely starting to go "off." I've ordered these cookies from another source and they are very delicious when nice and fresh.

These cookies are so good. I would've given 5-stars, but the cookies arrived crumbled in the packaging...it seemed like whomever packed it up, didn't put enough of those airbags in the box to keep the tin from being jostled around too much. Either way, the cookies were still really good and fresh...despite being broken up, I still ate them!

Received bisquits today, only ONE broken in half. Delicious and made a pretty presentation on plate for company. Tin was well packed inside and out. Packaging must have been improved,; someone was listening to previous suggestions for shipping improvements.
