Great knife for the money, well packaged, good starter knife or extra knife for your camper.
We needed a chef knife for our camper and we did not want to take our primary knife out of the house. It was made by a custom knife maker, and cost me six times what this one does. After using the custom knife my wife did not want something that would not word for her, but she did not want to spend what we did on our primary knife. I was a bit hesitant to try this one but I am glad I did. Although the blade is a little thinner, and the handle a little smaller, it is still well balanced and feels better than her previous chef knife made in Europe. Our custom knife has a 10 degree edge, while this one has a 15 degree edge, but I can modify that the first time I sharpen it. The steel is also not quite as hard as our custom knife, but it is hard enough – a file won’t skate on it, but it doesn’t leave much of a mark either. For the money, it is one of the nicest chef knives we’ve used and for our purpose it is working out just fine.

3.6 if not 4
Got this for the family as a sushi knife. Nice and sharp, handles well, cuts fish properly and with ease. Loses points because it's not a full tang, which, at this price point, it really should be. And there was a handle scuff upon arrival. Still glad to have it, but could have been better, like life.

Super sharp
This knife is very sharp, so be careful! It cuts beautifully, and is also a beautiful knife. It's a good size, too. Has worked well cutting different kinds of meat with ease.

Sharp and comfortable
I love a good chef’s knife. Although my husband does much of the actual cooking, I am his ‘sous chef’ and do all of the prep and chopping. A sharp knife is essential for chopping large amounts of vegetables - Onion, celery and green pepper for jambalaya, or carrots and onion for our Mexican rice. This knife is extremely sharp right out of the box, and has a comfortable feel in my hand. Keeping it out of the dishwasher will most likely make it last a long time. For the advertised price around $45, this is a great deal!

Super, super sharp and wonderful
This knife is sharp - really sharp. I was cutting cold cuts on a paper towel (to give my dogs a little treat) and with no sawing motion cut clean through the cold cuts and paper towel. I am not a professional chef - just like to cook and this knife is amazing. The handle rests perfectly in the hand and this is a kind of "grip" feeling that is comforting when holding the knife adding a level of control for cutting. Based on the appearance, packaging, and functionality, I would have expected this knife to be much more expensive. This is a great deal for the high quality.

Great knife, great steel, sweet grip/handle, ditch the coupon approach though
As I said above, this is an excellent chef knife, no complaints, I just never have liked it when marketing people inflate the asking price in order to have a never-ending "sale" on offer.

Really Sharp, but Durable?
This knife is a very sharp blade right out of the box. I didn't want to do anything to it for fear of ruining the blade and it's served us well for several weeks. That said, it's just so light weight that I have to wonder if it's going to hold the edge for long or stand up to frequent use.
