I give this a five star for several reasons. It works great as advertised, was an easy installation and a big on is it is made in America!

This is a quality built vent, not cheap plastic. Use this for a bath exhaust in a remodel of our 100 year old house. Soffit was the only option and this worked perfectly. Havent had any issue with bugs or debris blocking the flaps and it stays closed like it should.

Clever, simple design to prevent critters from entering your soffit vent. I appreciate the double layered door which prevents rodents from lifting it up and crawling inside, which was the problem we were having with lesser vent covers.

I'm giving it 4 stars, because it is a nice vent.... however..... The vent is not designed to have a standard 4" flex duct slipped over the collar. The collar is designed for some kind of quick-connect fitting that's already present on the end of the duct to slip inside the collar. That's why the collar is too short and why a normal flex duct won't slip over the end. I made do during the install because I had the old vent and cut off the plastic collar from that. Used a utility knife to pare away the quick-connect flanges, slipped one in the other and used a couple self-tapping screws to hold it together. Be warned. Zoom in to the photo and you'll see the slots for the quick connect.

This thing is the best! My Home Depot had nothing like this (only ones for protruding out of walls), and this one is just what I needed. It worked so well that I am going to get another one for the bathroom vent (I used this one for the dryer vent).

The connection to these is 4 1/4 in diameter. 99% of the exhaust hose will not fit these.

This is a quality product that looks nice and seems to be made of high quality plastic. Much nicer than other soffit vents I've dealt with in the past. Everything installed perfectly, the pipe connection is pretty tight so it took me about 10 minutes of fiddling to get my vent pipe around the collar and my pipe clamp installed. The collar is not very "tall" so if you are installing into a wooden soffit, consider a bigger hole to make sure your pipe clamp screw head can fit through your hole, since the collar won't clear the wood. I used an oscillating tool to cut a notch for my clamp screw and all was good. Love that it comes apart to clean and made in America.

Product is a winner, gravity gets the job done, very little airflow when the exhaust fan is turned off.

Works well in canadian winter climate for bathroom exhaust fan. Considerably reduces back draft compare to simple grid.

Product looked nice and functional . Upon install , multiple parts cracked and flaps fell off . They were not expensive but cost me my time to fix and refit the product .

Constantly freezes shut. Very annoying.
