I was pleased to try this 'Caffè Nero - Colombia Whole Roasted Coffee Beans Medium Roast, 7 Strength (6 x 200g)'. The look of the beans is definitely a medium roast - they are also a medium sized bean. I ground a 15g portion in my electric grinder, allowing it to become a coarse grind for my cafetiere. It smelt nice and strong, although unlike my favourite coffee. On tasting, after adding a scant amount of milk, which is how I like my coffee, I was pleasantly surprised. I have never had a fresh coffee taste sharp before and this one does to the extent that I could feel the inside of my cheeks 'twang' like they do to anything sharp tasting. The information does say you get notes of blackcurrant and apple, along with toffee and I can agree with all those attributes. It is strong, however not in anyway bitter - I really do not like bitter coffee. In conclusion it was a very pleasant cupful, which I will enjoy many more times due to the 6 x 200gram bags, however it is a totally different taste than I am used to. The current price of £26.70 is fair, in my opinion for these tasty beans because it works out at about £4.45 each pouch.

I found the taste to be a little on the light side but enjoyable nonetheless. Ideal if you don't care for your coffee to be too strong.

I am not usually one for flavoured coffee. I like coffee flavoured coffee. I was taken back by the great taste of blackcurrant and apple where it does not interfere with the coffee flavour but adds that extra taste to the coffee without ruining it. The smell of the beans even before they come out of the packet is just amazing. I was sitting there for ages just breathing in that amazing aroma and handing the bag around to the family for them to smell the beans. Just amazing is all I can say. A great price for so many beans. Just wonderful.
