I am a 59 year old female and have been trimming my horse's hooves since I got her in 2015. We live in Arizona and her black hooves have dried and gotten so rock hard, I can't squeeze the nippers hard enough AND then rasp in the heat besides taking forever! The Hoof Boss is a life-saver!! My husband rigged it so the safety lever is out of the way, so won't struggle with getting the grinder to start. I did not order a chain but used the red, most aggressive grinder and had one hoof done in about 10 minutes. In the heat of the summer, I can only handle doing one hoof a day, but this product is literally going to save my back, save TONS of money on a farrier and my horse's hooves will continue to get trimmed the way I want to have them done without worry of someone ruining her feet. I highly recommend using the safety glasses and possibly a face shield too.

I have been trimming my horses from a young age. At 65 I thought this would be a dream come true. I watched the video, tried it on wood and then introduced it to my horse. As the video shows I held it as I touched her. It threw the blade, which hit my horse and tossed pieces all over the stall. I thought I must not have secured it on well enough. Watched the video again and once again put it togeather much tighter. Started using it on the horse and was disapointed at the way it was cutting hoof, then once again it flew apart and tossed the blade into my horses stomach. Luckily this is a steady mare. It took me over 30 minutes to find all the parts. SENDING THIS BACK! BIG WASTE OF MONEY!!! Now I even have to pay to send it back. Thought Boss would be an exceptional buy. Wont be buying their products anymore.

I purchased this tool about a month ago and it was amazing. I have been trimming my horses for the past 15 years and this is the first thing I have found that is just amazing. It takes all of the hard work out of trimming your horse. After the 5th horse it started making a weird noise and I instantly thought great its a piece of junk so I considered just sending it back through amazon but instead I called the company that made it and their customer service was outstanding. They explained that there was an issue with a batch of gears they got in and that they only discovered it from people calling. They were working very hard to rebuild all the tools with the bad gears but a few had already been shipped out. She walked to the back and had a brand new one to send out to me before I even got off the phone. she was very apologetic and thanked me for giving them the chance to make it right and said they strive very hard to make sure their customers are happy. I received a replacement within 2 days! Good Honest American company.

After multiple no shows from the farrier, I decided to trim my horses feet myself. One of my boys is a huge draft cross that grows out quickly, and gets big splayed feet that want to crack. I’m a 65 yr old little woman, and the nippers and rasp were too much for me with my big boy...his feet are hard! I purchased the Hoof Boss...watched the videos, and when it arrived, practiced on a piece of wood. Then I tackled my boy’s feet of iron. Piece of cake! I am so impressed by The Hoof Boss....it was easy to handle, my horse accepted it very well...and it was very fast and easy to use...one handed even! Buy this if you want to take control of your horses trims! You will not regret it!

My mini hooves grow fast. Can trim up every couple weeks.

Not worth your time at all don't work well Worse customer service Said they won't refund even tho it was sent off in time it did not get to them in time so they just gunna send the junk unit back to me as is Unit would not stay on long enough to finish 1 horse kept cutting out
