I have had several of the TruBars. I really like the ingredients (great fiber!), the flavor of several of the bars and the texture. I'm a "chewy" person. I really loathe the chalky, pasty, crumbly protein bars and am glad I finally found one that isn't that way. **FAVORITES** Key Lime: Someone said that it tasted to them like a marshmallow and a key lime pie had a baby. I feel that's accurate. It's got a good lime taste, it's great for curing the sweet tooth, and doesn't have any chalky aftertaste. It's one of my favorites when I'm looking for a citrus-y/sweet treat. Saltylicious Almond Love: This one is also amazing! It doesn't taste exactly like almonds and chocolate, but more like a toffee-ish flavor. It's less sweet than the Key Lime, so on the days that I want something chocolate, this is one I turn to. The texture and the no chalk aftertaste is something I really love about these bars! **These were tasty and I would get them if my favorites weren't available** Daydreaming about Donuts: This one was decent. It did have a slight donut flavor, but I don't think I would seek it out if I had other flavor options. Oh oh Cookie Dough: This one was also pretty good. It did taste like cookie dough, so if that's what you are going for, I don't think you will be disappointed. It has the same great texture of the other TruBars. **I didn't like these at all and couldn't finish them after the first or 2nd bite** Strawberry Shorty Got Cake: I didn't get any of those words from the first bite I took and I threw the rest of the bar away. It didn't have a strong strawberry taste. Birthday Cake: No - just, No.

I love Trubars, most of the time. They check all my boxes: flavor, texture, clean ingredients, balanced nutrition including protein, fiber and low in sugar. They are nice and chewy! I've ordered several different flavors and especially like the key lime bars, which have been wonderful...until today. I opened a bar and took a bite: it tasted MOLDY! I tried a bite from the other end with the same result: MOLDY taste. I have no idea what is causing this weird feature but I do know that I probably won't finish this box of 12 (very pricey, by the way). Buyer beware!

Amazon says I’ve purchased these 44 times. In a few minutes, it will say 45. Key lime is the best flavor they make, hands down! Yum! Such a great alternative to the standard chocolate/PB combo (which btw TruBar completely flops at making- that’s their worst flavor by far. Tastes like chemicals, so much so that I actually threw the 10 left in the box into the trash). But these key lime bars don’t last more than a couple of days around here!

4 stars because they do taste like lime, but they are TOO SWEET! They are really chewy, which can be a good thing if one needs to chew and chew in order to feel like they ate food, but I can absolutely do without the icing. TOO SWEET! And rather small. Would much prefer if they were a little thicker, a little less chewy, and less sweet by at least 1/3 to 1/2 of the sweetness. While I wont purchase again, I will not share these w my sugar-addicted kids. They dont care where their sweetness comes from. Just want that sweet taste.

Delish! I can’t say it tastes exactlyyy like key lime, which is my favorite pie ever, but it is a delicious protein bar all the same. The taste is perfectly citrusy, the coating is just enough sweetness to balance, and the texture is moist and chewy. Again, not a dupe for key lime but once you get over that it’s still a really yummy bar - I’m keeping this one stocked.

I've purchased three different flavors that I've really liked (Whole Lotta Macchiato, Daydreaming About Donuts, and Oh Oh Cookie Dough). Of these, the Whole Lotta Macchiato is my favorite, followed by the Donut flavor that really does taste like a glazed donut. I also like the soft, chewy texture which is a departure from other plant-based protein bars that I eat. While I wish the bars were a bit higher in protein, what you give up there you usually gain in flavor. I mean, while I love the protein content, most of the No Cow bars are like cardboard in comparison. This all said, the Whipped for Key Lime bars I received today were a complete miss for me. While I'm sure it didn't help that the bars were melted upon delivery, the bitter aftertaste is just not something I can get past. An hour after eating one of them I still taste it! It's gross. Honestly, they may be the worst bars I've ever tried. Ironically, key lime is probably the best bars that No Cow puts out. Go figure! I guess you can't win them all, right?! Will I keep buying Truebars? Absolutely? Will it be the key lime flavor? Absolutely not! I will definitely opt for one of the other flavors next time. This one is most definitely not for me. My tastebuds are still weeping.

If I could rate this specific flavor 0 I would. I’ve had the Donut and Peanut butter flavor and loved them. This key lime one everyone was raving about in reviews so I tried it out. TERRIBLE decision on my part. I don’t know if mine was spoiled or expired but it tasted like throw up, immediately. The outer coating tasted like some type of soap and after chewing for a few seconds thinking it will get better, it did not. Again, could have gotten a bad box but wasn’t even willing to try a second bite after the first. Will however continue to buy the flavors I know and like.

Love the key lime flavour. Individual package allows for portability when I need a protein-based snack or fast meal on the go.

These bars are hard around the edges and barely chewable. I have bought else where and know they should be soft and chewy. Cannot return unfortunately. Buyer bearing buying food off here!

The peanut butter and jelly bar has long been my favourite, but this Keylime bar is exceptional! Must try for anybody looking for a better for you protein bar.

I've been addicted to Trubars since I first came across them a few years ago, and with citrus being one of my absolute favourite flavours in general, I thought that their new key lime flavour would be utter perfection. Not only was it not even remotely as good as any of their other flavours, it was terrible. For the most part, the bars themselves are all the same, with the difference showing up in the coating by way of flavouring extracts. The key lime smelled very much like cleaning products and tasted extremely artificial, with a perfumed aftertaste that almost made me feel like I was walking by Bath and Body Works. Let's be real. As far as protein bars go, the nutrition profile of Trubars isn't astounding. The protein is relatively low, with higher calories and sugar, comparatively. The macros aren't amazing. I buy them because they are vegan and (usually) an incredibly delicious, healthier alternative to a chocolate bar or other sweet snack. All other flavours available in Canada I'd rate between 4.5-5/5. The key lime would get a 0/5. I hope the recipe gets reworked with some real key lime zest, and they do away with the scented candle flavouring.
