when at the beach we like to walk the beach and look for interresting rocks, shells and what ever else we find, but since we are getting older get tired of bending over to pick them up. ordered these for our recent trip and was very pleased with them. They telescope in for easy transporting and out for easy use. they are light weight which makes them easy to carry while walking along the beach. they are not heavy duty and wouldn't stand up well for digging in the sand but for scooping up shells and small rocks from the beach they work really well and had no problem with them at all. I much prefer the scoop shape over the round shape that others have. For the price I don't think you could do better.

I live in a beach town, so I Purchased this item for my grandchildren in April before the season. Gave it to them this past weekend. Didn't even get to use it once and it broke as they put is into the sand!! Now Amazon refuses to refund my money.

My kids love shelling with these and me too! Only suggestion is the basket will come apart with a lot of digging, so make sure they are easy on the scooping part. Otherwise functions amazing and is easy to use. Lightweight and travels well.

The mesh filters sand really well, and the included bags are very convenient for storing your finds. The handles feel sturdy, and the size is perfect for beach walks. These mesh baskets were great for shelling. The little bags were pretty worthless though. I specifically asked before I bought these, to see if they had zippers and they told me yes. They did not. They were also really cheap materials and super small. They were worthless for storing anything, as everything would fall out, and they were way too small.

Fun. A bit flimsy. Holes too large for small shells. Package arrived dented.

These shark tooth sifters turned out to be such a fun and useful beach tool! The scoops are lightweight but sturdy, and they make it so much easier to search through the sand for shells and shark teeth without hurting your hands. I also love that the set comes with mesh seashell bags — perfect for collecting treasures during beach walks. Great for both kids and adults, and easy to pack for vacation. Definitely a fun addition to any beach trip!

Don't bother and don't waste your time. As soon as I received these and saw how cheaply they were made I knew they would break. The only thing holding the basket to the handle is a screw with the tiny weld on the basket. That connection point cannot have been made weaker. Within 30 minutes of digging and sifting sand for shells and shark teeth the weld cracked. I then tried to unscrew it from the handle and it just broke off at that previously mentioned weld. These are being returned.
