There is nothing on my coffee maker declaring it was made in China

Are any of the parts plastic?

Yes - found out the hard way. Spigot lever & part of the valve are plastic and snapped after a few months of daily use. Granted, if they were bare metal they would probably be too hot to handle, but a better option would have been solid soldered metal with a silicon cover at least.

Can you use this to make tea?

Yes. Coffee and tea are brewed using the same method: steeping in hot water. You could use loose leaf tea in the same way as coffee grounds with this. However, steeping time may be different between tea and grounds. The tea might end up a bit weak, you could tinker by using more tea or some other methods to get that balance right for your taste. TL;DR: yes, you can brew tea as well.

How long does it take to make a cup of coffee?

If you use hot water it will boil faster i have timed it and it takes roughly 8minutes ITS AMAZING I LOVE IT!!!!!
