Zinus 12 Inch King Foam and Spring Hybrid Mattress, Medium Feel

Amazed how great this mattress is! I ordered this on prime day after a long search for mattresses. It is for my daughter who is moving to another state. It arrived fast and was simple to take out, the day after it arrived. Left it laying flat for 3 days before putting it on the frame. It's amazing how great it looks. You'd never know it was rolled up tight in a box. It is being used on the Zinus metal frame. Comfortable mattress for the price. I slept well on it, no back pain and my quality of sleep is great. Very satisfied

I did lots of research between this and other mattresses. I did go up in height of mattress which I wasn’t expecting, but the 12” was $10 more than the 10”. I bought the twin 12” and was concerned it’d be firm but actually very soft. I’d say medium soft. However I think cuz it’s 12” it’s very tall it’s very squishy and moves a lot. I am an adult who’s heavier and everytime I change sleeping positions the bed shakes everywhere. But is still very comfy despite it being very shaky.

This mattress is pretty comfortable, it does have a few flaws like some lines and such that aren’t even.

Honestly these mattresses have gotten worse in quality. I let it air out for 72 hours and started sleeping on it. The firmness sucks. And has already sunk in on one side I can only imagine if I turn it around and sleep on the other side for another 3 months. I’m gonna have a mattress that is completely flat and keeps pressure on my neck. It did what it was supposed to do, but seeing as how there’s no way for me to roll it up into a vacuum packed sealed mattress bag and send it back I guess I’ll just deal with it and stop buying Zinus. Until I can buy a real mattress. Honestly don’t believe the hype in the reviews, Zinus used to be great. And I know because I purchased the same mattress just with the fiberglass back in 2020 and it held up better than this piece of crap. I was able to sleep on it from March 2020 to January 2025 before I started noticing that it was killing my back. (And I would’ve warrantied that one out, however Zinus completely deleted my order off of their website. Which was shady as hell.) I should’ve learned my lesson and just went with a more expensive mattress. This one lasted me 3 months. That’s a big time frame of becoming worthless. But leave it to Zinus to sell cheaper pieces of crap.

After using for a month every night, I'd say this mattress is medium firm, you sink in the top a little but the springs stay firm. Once you open the package it quickly rises to full size. As a hot sleeper, it doesn't do much to keep you cool (but neither do most mattresses with this claim) but it doesn't make you overly hot. It's not bouncy and I can move without disturbing my cat if she's next to me. If you aren't looking for the perfect bed this is a great mattress. It exceeded my expectations.

I’m was excited about this new mattress, and it’s disappointing to be writing this review. I’m considering going through a return for it. I thought I did my research and felt pretty confident because I recognized Zinus as a brand, similar to the Linenspa mattress we use for a spare room. The biggest issue is that .our Zinus mattress feels hot. Since getting it, I haven’t been able to sleep with blankets, just a sheet. Even with our air conditioned blasting. It doesn’t feel like it permits airflow very well. Rechecking the ad, it doesn’t say cooling, but it seems like a reasonable, basic expectation for a mattress like this. Many others say it. I just assumed this one would be too. I stay away from the Tempur-Pedic foam bricks for that reason. But hot sleepers beware of this one, It is way too soft to be labeled ‘medium firm.’ Some of the other reviews seemed helpful in grading the plushness with the height—14 inches more plush, 12 inches more firm. 10 would be too low so I went for the 12 thinking anything labeled medium firm would safeguard against my hips sinking lower than my body while on my back…but that doesn’t seem to be the case. That also doesn’t help the air flow issue. I would always prefer to lean towards more firm then add a topper. I think any use of ‘firm’ in the ad is misleading for this one. It transfers movement worse than the queen we use in our spare room, that’s older, also a hybrid from a box, and a smaller bed than the king. I’m writing this review in the middle of the night after my spouse left for the spare from being uncomfortable. Overall I’m super sad about the mattress. It looks nice, inflated quickly, and was delivered fast, But the important stuff was a big miss.

I am genuinely impressed with this hybrid spring foam mattress that came in a box. It’s incredibly comfortable honestly, just as comfy as my $10k mattress. My toddler absolutely loves it too. The mix of support and softness is perfect, and it feels way more expensive than it is. I’ve already been recommending it to friends and family. If you’re looking for a comfy, affordable mattress that doesn’t sacrifice quality, this is it!

I would categorize this mattress as medium soft. It’s not very comfortable, feels like you are always bouncing around. Maybe it would be better on a solid platform frame than one with slats. Will give away or trash as I can’t imagine the return process
