This thing totally blows... cold air!
The product does what it promises. It blows cold air. The window kit works on my vertical window and will fill about 5 feet in length. Venting is done by a flexible hose much like a dryer vent hose. If I were to install this for the summer I would look into an insulated dryer hose as they will transfer less heat, and are made to handle moist hot air which is what this unit vents (for every action there is an opposite reaction -you have to make heat to make cold air. The item is about right with the square footage it can cool. Properly installed it will cool about 300 - 350sf of space. When it is 115 outside it struggles a bit, but so does a central air system. For me my kitchen is about 360sf and it helps keep it cool and dry. It does make a fair amount of noise as it is an AC unit with a compressor and heat exchanger. It uses an impeller type fan which should last. I find running the fan on low keeps the noise down to a reasonable level. But obviously the compressor makes that compressor sound no matter what. The unit is reasonably efficient only drawing 790 - 798 watts at maximum settings. So for a day's worth of use, assuming it ran all day without ever stopping, (which you should not do, it is made to cycle on and off at a set temp like 75), it would use about $2.15 for me. That may sound crazy, but my central air burns about $15 per day and it does cycle on and off. So in a proper environment, on a hot summer day, this unit may use $1 or so if it is cycling normally. The window kit is minimalist. it is made to fit windows up to just over 5 feet tall or wide. In my case I needed 5 feet worth. The smallest opening is about 27" but if you needed smaller you could cut the plastic down to size. As for the quality of sealing, you might want to use some sort of paint tape, or buy some foam stripping at a big box store -that would be ideal to get a good seal to keep heat out. It also depends on the window style as some may seal better than others. The controls make sense, I will be using the dehumidifier feature in winter for sure. Everything seems to work well. I did not use the phone app because it is just as easy to walk over and do what I need to do. I also like that it is using R32 for refrigerant. That's what the industry is moving to rapidly. General consensus is it is better than R410A, and more like R22 for cooling capability, And for the tech nerds, the Delta T is about 21 degrees on this unit, making it outperform my 3 ton R410A central air unit by 7 degrees. So it blows cold air for sure. The unit has a CEER rating of 6.3BTU/hr but using actual usage loads I come up with 8.3BTU/hr so I am not sure why the discrepancy (figid test environment maybe). I had AI check my math to be sure. 6.3 is okay, 8.3 is more okay. Don't pull the plug to shut off! Press the power button and let it go through its shutdown process of shutting off the compressor and letting the fan run to cool things down first. This is a very handy item to have in a time of need, or a hot room that needs some extra cooling, even to take the curse off a hot garage. I am wondering why I waited so long to be honest.

Good cooler
Works great. I would say the size room it cools is a bit over stated.

Works wonders
Bought this in July and had been using it for 5 months. My husbands workspace doesn’t have a/c. It blows super cold air. Is very compact and easy to install. It’s very quiet I’ve only emptied the small water cup 2times and the unit gets used almost everyday. I’m so pleased with this purchase I’m buying another one. The weather has been cooling down, so the heater has been on. However, my son prefers a cold room. So I’m buying one for his room.

Great Ac unit plug ready to go when it arrives.
it works great keeps my room very cold when it’s hot comes with a remote hose for draining if needed worth the money 100 percent beats suffering the the heat all day. Also the box it comes in says let sit horizontally for 24 hours before uses so have that in mind when you get it.

Will not cool reliably if internet/wifi is lost. Compressor randomly cuts out
This 14000btu Dr. Prepare portable a/c: installation went fine. The unit connected to wifi fine. I set a temperature of 62 deg F in the room to be used in, and a temperature setpoint of 90 deg F and it ran cooled for about an hour. Then the compressor cut off and only the fan ran even though it was not close to the temperature setpoint. I unplugged it and tried resetting the smart life app. I had intermittent success but the unit compressor would randomly turn off leaving the room to get hot due to it recirculating with just the fan. I need this to keep very important electrical equipment cool while I am away from home for several days. I cannot afford for the unit to just quit cooling while gone. I performed a loss of power check to make sure it would turn back on to its preset settings and it did, however, the compressor would not turn on even though the indicator showed 62 deg F of cooling on the faceplate. I am an ellectrical engineer of 42 years in the power industry. Also if the internet and/or wifi is lost, the unit cannot perform its cloud based functions. I need a unit that is not dependent on the cloud. I need it to cool whether internet/wifi is present or not. It needs to continue cooling with/without internet and/or wifi. purely on its local memory.

Used but amazing
Bought it for my room that has no vents or air flow of any sorts and it works amazingly I’m cold at 77 degrees definitely a must

Compact, cold but noisy
I purchased this to my daughter's bedroom and it just arrived. This review is after 3 hours of use. Looks good, very compact and easy to use. I had no issue with connecting it to the wifi. It blows cold air, the ambient temp dropped from 86 to 75 in less than an hour. but the self-evaporating pump is very noisy. Noise reduced significantly when I opened the middle drain hole and connected the drain hose to it. However, you need a large container (min 2 gallons) since it gets filled quickly.

Easy to setup, took out of the box, fitted the soft zip bag thing to the window frame, connected the pipe to the adaptor, connected the adaptor to the unit, removed tape and plugged in and it started working straight away. Only used it to cool air so far, not used the Dehumidification feature so can not speak to the water capacity of it. The unit is louder than my PC, but given it is cooling a room, with 2 gaming PC's dumping 70-80C of heat into the room whit and ambient temperature of 30C in the room, the Air Con easily keeps the room temps down on the lower fan setting with 19C set. One of the best things i have ever purchased because for the price the quality is excellent and with the future set to only get hotter the investment is very much worth EVERY PENNY as we have wasted so much money on other things that claimed to "cool air" but never did.

Works very well we have 3 very large bedrooms in the roof space and these units cool them down very well in the current heatwave. Tip buy a bucket as well as they generate a fair amount of water when cooling so you will need one to put the drain tube in to. Over night it must be about 4 L of water. Easy to set the unit up, although the venting tube is a bit stiff. The venting kit is ok we have it fitted to a velux roof window and 2 side opening windows. I have used gorilla tape and the supplied window surround to seal the window fully. Cost effective way to cool the rooms down, whilst thinking of getting full AC units fitted to house.

First, be aware my delivery was done by DPD, who reliably deliver to the wrong address (and did). That minor inconvenience aside, the unit is surprisingly small and compact and looks pretty decent. It's quite heavy, though, so I question how truly "portable" it is: I wouldn't want to be lugging it up and down stairs as the mood takes me, put it that way. We're planning to pick a spot and leave it there, basically. It runs quite loud. I measured the conventional fan running next to my bed before now at 38dB, and I find that intrusive at night. This thing, on full fan speed, registers at 58dB. My meter says that's a "quiet office", but I'd say it was significantly more intrusive than that and renders it unsuitable for a bedroom at night unless I take to wearing earplugs. Setup was (forgive the pun) a breeze, but see below for a significant caveat concerning the venting mechanism. Is it pumping out lots of lovely, cool air? Sure: so it's doing its cooling job effectively and I am confident that if we get another 38°C scorcher, this is going to be a great boon and improve comfort in the house considerably. The provided remote control is a useful addition that allows you to do everything you can do with the on-unit buttons (and nothing extra!) but without having to leave your seat. The lazy in me appreciates this! There are two big caveats that knock stars off this review, however. First is the price: I think £250 is expensive for a product such as this, though of course that's a subjective assessment. The second problem is objectively more of an issue: I bought this for the claim that it suits slider windows *and* push-out ones, as most air conditioners these days seem to assume you have slider windows only (and we don't). It's push-out "support", however, consists of providing a giant white fabric 'sock' whose purpose remains a mystery to me but installation of which requires attaching Velcro to your window frame: this completely undermines any sense of portability, as you basically have to glue stuff to specific windows for the venting to be efficiently done. Even more seriously, the venting hose is quite short... and all our push-out windows are quite high up. The hose doesn't reach, basically, and I am therefore immediately in the market for an extension hose... which, according to the manual, will void the warranty if I obtain and use one. Technically, this makes the air conditioner completely non-functional for my house, though merely sticking the hose out of a patio door in the interim, without the giant sock, is actually working to a reasonable extent. I can't really recommend this unit, therefore. It works, to a point. But it isn't trivial to make it suit every house and, for £250, that disappoints me. Will I keep the unit? Sure, because anything is better than a hot, humid English summer day! It will provide a very necessary respite. But it's not the seamless experience I was hoping for.

I purchased mine in winter 9,000 BTU just hoping to get it a little cheaper, for anyone who is buying one of these when you use it for the first time or after it's been stored for a year give it a good 10 minutes for the refrigeration to kick in, I have one upstairs I was that impressed I bought another one for downstairs, but you're in the winter we had a terrible leak over my kitchen extension, this machine was drying my kitchen out so brilliantly I was emptying a four pinter milk carton of water every 4 hours and it dried my kitchen out within 24 hours it is amazing for that purpose, I am disabled and I cannot handle the heat especially upstairs in my house so this unit is absolutely brilliant, let's put it this way everybody I have told and shown about this air con unit they've all gone out and bought one some of them are still yet to get one but they want them badly, I'm certainly not disappointed in it for me it is a lifesaver a godsend! You can also set on fridge mode the temperature you want your room to maintain a certain temperature which is brilliant so it doesn't get too cold the fridge will turn off and kick in when when the temperature changes! Or you can simply just use it as a fan, you only need to drain the water if you are putting it away for a long period of time, do not keep emptying the water if you are using it every day throughout summer the water evaporates so like I said the only time you need to went to it is when you are putting it away for a long period apart from that my family and I love it 🥶 happy cool days and nights.

Very effective unit, average sized bedroom, perfect. On half speed set to 20 degrees a/c I seem to be able to sleep through it, and the unit is pretty much two feet away from the end of my bed. Keep the water drained from the bottom hole. It doesn't collect much really....probably once a week may give you half a cup of water I've found. If you don't drain from the bottom hole, apparently the water will keep on building up and a sensor eventually triggers and stops the machine from working until it's drained. If you run de-humidifier setting, make sure to connect the supplied drain hose to the upper hole, it's about half way up the machine on the back and is plugged with a white rubber cap. Keep the drain hose connected and draining into a plastic box or bucket, it does create quite a lot of water that setting. The unit works brilliantly, and the remote too. Very pleased with it. Very effective. I did need to buy an exhaust hose extension kit for my set up, but they aren't expensive. The top filer at the back pulls off (gently does it) and simply rinse under clean running water, I run mine under the shower for a few seconds, gently wipe dry and replace. Pretty heavy but on good casters. You can get covers for them if you put it away out of season. The noise becomes almost a white noise, strange at first, but I got used to it pretty quickly. Or, chill the room down, and put onto night mode, this will increase the temperature on the display by 1 degree an hour. I also got a small remote holder from Amazon which sticks to the wall.
