A New York Times Bestseller! In Fire in the Hole! , Bob Parsons, founder of GoDaddy, shares his story of extraordinary success as a self-made serial entrepreneur. Born in the tough town of East Baltimore to parents who were inveterate gamblers, billionaire philanthropist Bob Parsons' early years were marked by hardship and financial struggle. While he vowed his own children would never lack for anything, never did he imagine the wealth he would one day amass as the founder of Parsons Technology, GoDaddy, PXG Golf, and YAM Worldwide. In his literary debut, Fire in the Hole! , this extraordinary entrepreneur recounts the exploits of his youth, his hellish days at the mercy of Catholic school nuns, his harrowing tour of combat duty in Vietnam as a US Marine, his pioneering contributions to the software and internet industries, and his latest ventures in power sports, golf, real estate, and marketing. Along the way, we witness his remarkable resilience as he copes with his mother’s mental illness and his father’s struggles, battles PTSD resulting from both his childhood and war traumas, and mounts a quest to find new and effective treatments for himself and others who suffer from this affliction. He strongly supports veterans organizations, and believing in the concept of paying it forward , has awarded grants to more than ninety-six charities and organizations worldwide through the Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation. Perhaps the only thing that has come easy to Parsons is his gift for storytelling. His reflections are at turns heartbreaking, heartwarming, hilarious, and inspiring. If ever there were a story about a self-made man whose wealth can be measured as much by the contents of his heart as by the contents of his bank account, this is it. More than anything, Fire in the Hole! is a "can't put down," damn good read! Review: Get ready for a rollercoaster of emotion - Oh man, let me tell you about "Fire in the Hole" by Bob Parsons. It's like diving headfirst into the wild and wonderful world of Bob himself. This book isn't just about business; it's about Bob's journey, from his roots to his rise to the top. Bob's storytelling is something else, my friend. He's not afraid to let it all hang out, sharing his highs, lows, and everything in between. But what really gets me is his personality. He's larger than life, with a sense of humor that'll have you snorting your drink one moment and nodding along like you're in deep philosophical agreement the next. He's the kind of guy who'll drop an F-bomb in a board meeting and somehow make it sound like the most inspiring thing you've ever heard. And let me tell you, the guy knows how to drop some truth bombs. It's not just business advice he's dishing out; it's real, raw wisdom that hits you right in the gut. Whether he's talking about overcoming obstacles or just rolling with the punches, there's something here for everyone. So, if you're after a read that's part rollercoaster ride, part heart-to-heart chat with your best bud and the kindest person you’ve ever met, "Fire in the Hole" is it. Whether you're dreaming of starting your own business or just love a good tale, this book has got you covered. Trust me, you won't regret it. Review: Great Biography of Bob Parsons and Go Daddy - Really enjoyed the book and the stories in it. If there was one disapointment there were no pictures that you usually find in a biography . I loved the thought process he talks about when he goes to build a new business. Over all it was a great read and loved the personal comentary by Bob

well done, a good example of never quitting
A great look at how the military experience and near death situations will result in beneficial character building. From the trials and tribulations and dealing with life and death and still be resilient enough to learn, benefit, mature and make a tremendous contribution to society. Night stalkers Don’t quit. NSDQ

Parables of a life well lived
I hate the title but loved the book. Bob Parsons is a magnificent storyteller. This memoir consists of 33 brief chapters in chronological order, each telling a story from his life, which like parables mostly have a message. He had an interesting life – from a traumatic childhood to being a Marine, and then tremendous success in technology and business. I don’t know if reading this book will make you as happy as Bob Parsons (“We’re not here for a long time, we’re here for a good time”) or as wealthy (“Passion is a wonderful driver for success.”) but it can’t hurt and you will enjoy every minute of it.

Fire in the Hole is a must read book, especially for every veteran.
The Bob Parsons story is from a hardship life as a child to his time as a Marine Vietnam veteran who received the Purple Heart, and then to his success in business. The book has humor, drama, and inspiration. Many veterans can relate to his active duty, his PTSD, and Vietnam veterans I am sure can relate to the way he saw how they were treated when they came home from Vietnam. But the greatness of this story is how Bob Parsons overcame his early life, survived combat, to become one of the greatest self-made successful entrepreneurs. And this I must say, "Welcome home Bob Parsons. Semper Fi."

Not the life you would expect
What a fantastic read. When I think of someone that has billions of dollars I envision that person growing up with a silver spoon and all of life’s advantages. Bob Parsons’ life is the exact opposite of that. He started his childhood with the deck completely stacked against him but that didn’t stop him. What an impressive story by such an impressive person. If you know someone that is struggling or feeling sorry for themselves because of the hand they’ve been dealt they should read this book.

Blown Away
This book was written with a modest heart, and honest reflection and faith to persevere. I purchased because of our experience at PXG in Bellevue, WA. I was incredibly curious of how this company came to be. I read this book in less than 2 weeks, and taken with the spirit Bob fostered in himself and acknowledged in those he crossed paths with. This material is a book that should be read by anyone considering a path less worn and gave me a few laughs but also a strong reminder that it isn't over until it's over(!)

Looove this book!
This book is outstanding! I enjoyed it from beginning to end while laughing, crying and everything in between. I appreciate how raw and genuine Bob is as he takes the reader through his journey. I’ve never highlighted so many quotes in a kindle book - soooo many insights and life lessons that we can all learn from. I feel very fortunate that I worked for GoDaddy during the last couple of years Bob was there. I still work there to this day and appreciate the amazing and unique company culture he built from the ground up.
