Eberlestock Bando Bag - Tactical Men's Fanny Pack w/Adjustable Waist Belt

I’ve been carrying the Eberlestock Bando XL for everyday concealed carry, and overall I’m very impressed. The build quality is outstanding, the materials feel premium, and the bag is comfortable whether worn as a cross-body sling or as a traditional waist pack. My XL did come with an extender so adjusting for sling is easy. The zippers are smooth, and everything feels like it’s built to last. I carry a Glock 43X in a holster along with a spare magazine. The concealed carry compartment accommodates both without any issues, and the draw is quick and consistent. One thing that isn’t obvious until you start using the bag is that the firearm protrudes slightly into the body of the bag. Because of that, it reduces some of the usable space in both the main compartment and the smaller front pocket. It’s not a flaw—it’s simply the reality of carrying a pistol in a compact CCW bag. Even with that tradeoff, I still have enough room for my phone, wallet, car keys, and a small flashlight, which is exactly what I wanted from an everyday carry bag. If you’re expecting to carry a tablet, large organizer, bulky battery bank, or a lot of extra gear, you’ll probably find yourself running out of room faster than expected or items will be a tight fit and a little fight to pull out. Pros: ● Excellent construction and premium materials. ● Comfortable for extended wear. ● Fast-access concealed carry compartment. ● Fits a Glock 43X and spare magazine well. ● Doesn’t scream “tactical,” making it great for everyday use. Cons: ● The handgun reduces usable space in the main and front compartments. ● Storage is best suited for everyday essentials rather than larger EDC loads. Overall, the Bando XL does exactly what I wanted it to do: provide a discreet, comfortable way to carry my firearm along with the essentials I use every day. Once you understand the storage limitations that come with carrying a pistol, it’s an excellent bag and one I’d definitely purchase again. I did mod the strap to hold the pistol and used it to hold my spare mag.

I’ve been really impressed with the Eberlestock Bando Bag. It’s compact enough to carry comfortably without getting in the way, but it still has plenty of room for everyday essentials. The construction feels durable and the materials have a quality feel. The pockets and organization make it easy to keep smaller items separated and accessible. It’s also comfortable to wear for extended periods without feeling bulky. Overall, it’s a well-built, versatile bag that works great for everyday carry and outdoor use.

Well-made product. The zippers need a little lube to run smoothly. Fits my Sig P365XL and my iPhone perfectly. No need to zip the gun pocket more than one side; my hand slips right in for a smooth, quick draw. If you need more storage room or a full-size automatic, then get the XL size. I got the blue color because it doesn't scream "tactical". Casual dress, blue jeans, shorts, sweats- I wear it everywhere now, even while driving. Give it a try; I really don't think you'll be disappointed! I wear it around the waist. Not a big fan of sling-carry. With it around the waist, I can go anywhere and do anything, and never have to take it off.

I'm giving it 4 stars, but more like 3.5. All because of the zippers. I can't for the life of me figure out why the Fade Flex has these chonky but quick and smooth AF zippers (stellar, even), and these are.... not. I mean, if the Fade Flex came later, then OK. But use the same zippers on the Bando. These feel like an after thought or a cost-cutting measure. I saw some folks cranking about how they don't like the Bando b/c the zips only go one way. For clarification, the CCW compartment allows for staging and drawing open from either direction. The other two compartments... sure, they only open to the left, but it's fine IMO. It helps me being lefty b/c I keep the CCW zips over to the left, and the other zips have to be to the right to be closed. I guess with right-handed folks... yeah, maybe it's a little more intrusive to a quick open. IDK. The reason I don't crank more about the zippers is b/c I'm not the guy on the range training to draw from the closed bag at comp speeds while never taking eyes off the target that I have to be quicker than b/c he's clearly drawing down on me right now, bro! (These zippers will make sure you don't get to fast). Why not? Because I don't plan on facing off with bad guys at the OK Corral. I tend just pay attention, and if i need to prep something to draw, I just start prepping my position and gear to do whatever comes next. You know... OODA loop and all that. Otherwise, it's a good-sized bag, and wife appreciates me carrying it more than the Flex b/c it looks more civilian. It's a great size- larger than the Flex Micro but not quite as big as the Flex standard. I prefer the set up of the compartments of the Flex more (both main pockets fully unzip on three sides), but the Bando still works well with the main compartment being the "focus" pocket and plenty roomy with some organization and additional zipped compartments on the inside of that main pocket. I like the style and size of the Bando for lower key EDC. Do the zippers sort of suck? Now that I know what the Flex zippers are like... Yes. Still worth it as an EDC? Also yes.

I don't do reviews very often but this one is worthy. Background: Former Mil and full time LEO; NREMT-P, TEMS, vol FireMedic and all the other dang things. 20+ years up in it. I will without fail ALWAYS prefer on body carry. But along with a multitude of other reasons/situations, it can't always happen. Top of the list, I live at the beach and it's also hotter then the devils breath 9 months out of the year. I don't even want to talk about the humidity. Every environment is different, but lightweight shorts, t shirts and sun hoodies are the standard UOTD around here. While I'm all about a sling bag....for reasons (it's always in the truck) the advent (or resurgence if you're a 90s kid like me) of the waist packs was a solution for places like here. I've been through several different waist packs and stayed on the fence about them. I regularly used them as an adjunct for over stuffed pockets. Enter the bando bag. FOREWARNING: The one issue you may have is the holster pocket footprint. If you carry a full size or even mid-size with optics, you're gonna want a bando XL. When I waist bag carry, it's either a comped and optics G43x or a non optics G26. Fits perfect. With that out of the way, the holster pocket layout and methodology fits my liking to a T. No flop, solid mount up and purchase point with any number of velcro backed holsters. Is the draw as fast as a good AIWB setup? Maybe not quite, but spend some time on it. It's fast enough for the compromise it is. Move up to the "main" pocket, wallet, spare mags, mini ingress/egress kit, keys, mini trauma kit, 1 cell light and ETK tourniquet drop in with room to spare. Good organizational setup inside, zippered pouch, two pockets in rear and elastic band in roof for your TQ or mag or a candy bar. Front small zipper pocket for small whatevers. I keep skittles and a couple pairs of nitrile gloves in there. With all that, not only is there room to spare if you need to flex, it does NOT look full, let alone overstuffed. With all that, I'm a tall lanky dude, 6'2" and change and 180lbs. It's easy for some waist packs to look oversized and too "obvious". (Think the vertx Soc-P). Too much for my taste. The bando bag is a perfect size and low profile. If you think a man purse might be an option for you, don't end up here like I did. Just start here. It's as popular as it is for a reason. Oh, and the zipper pulls kick ass too.

This is my second Bando bag, in 3 years, I heavily use mine daily. I like the slught update in branding and stitch work. Nice detail. While I do not specifically conceal carry using the separate compartment, I find this is a perfect spot for my mobile phone. The reason for the replacement is the wear and tear on the zipper of the largest compartment. I find that nylon zippers just do this over time. I would definitely buy a third time.

This Eberlestock Bando is just what I was looking for. The accessibility of the pockets and all my EDC is great. I have carried this bag to multiple countries, and it has been sturdy, reliable, and even rain-resistant. Great price for what it carries, unlike other bags I've tried. This is, without a doubt, my new EDC Bag!

EDIT APRIL 2026: Still love this bag a year and a half later, and carry it every day, but wanted to flag something for readers. I have carried two handguns in this bag (Kel-Tec p32 and S&W bodyguard 2.0) that all occasionally gave me the same problem: while in the bag, the magazine release somehow got depressed, half ejecting the magazine. This is obviously a big problem, but I think it is all issue that all bags like this are susceptible to, not just this one. It's also yet another example of how paddle mag releases are better than push button...but I digress. For now I carry a snubnose .38 revolver in the pistol pouch, which works fine. I carry even more stuff in the other pockets than I did at the time of the review below--I've added eye drops, cash, my keys, a flashlight, a tiny thing of hand sanitizer, and a few more small things. It remains incredibly useful. Just be very careful about the magazine ejection issue. ......................... I didn't want to buy this bag originally because I felt it was unnecessarily expensive, but after buying a cheaper one and being unsatisfied with it, I figured I'd give it a shot. Glad I did. It is very high quality and rugged. I went with the smaller (non-XL) version. It holds everything I need-- .32 ACP Keltec P32 in the pistol pocket; pepper gel, 12" collapsible baton, and tourniquet in the middle pocket; two doses of narcan in the front pocket. I could fit more stuff in the middle pocket if I wanted to, like money or a small wallet. I will say that the pistol pocket on the non-XL version is pretty small. I think you could fit a Shield, EC9, P238, Bodyguard/Bodyguard 2.0, Tomcat, or something similar sized in there, but probably nothing too much larger. Basically anything that could conceivably be called a pocket pistol, even in the larger side of that category, would work. I don't think I could fit my G19 in this, but I haven't tried. There's some discussion about using this bag as an over-the-shoulder sling bag vs fanny pack. I'm a relatively slim guy (5'10 165), and by extending the included belt as far as it would go, I can fairly easily use this as a sling bag. That's how I usually carry it, as I think it's actually less conspicuous (based on where I live and how I look, anyway) than a fanny pack. If you're a big fella or lady, though, it probably isn't going to work, and you may have to get some kind of extension.

Always liked Eberlestock, have a few of their packs for EDC and hunting. Figured I’d give this a whirl. In Canada, the CC really doesn’t apply, so probably turn that portion into a spot for sun glasses, but I went with the XL for the touch bigger size allowance, even though I don’t plan on fully blowing it out. Just nice to have the option to carry a bit more when needed. Durability and build quality on par with my other Eberlestock gear, which is to say it’s tough as hell and reliable. Pockets are thoughtfully designed, with internals for a tourniquet, mesh zippered pocket, sleeves, etc. Fits nice, feels comfortable and stashes away easily under a vehicle seat if you don’t want it seen.

first product from this brand, yes it is expensive but i understood why when it arrived, excellent quality. you get what you pay for, i have it fully packed with different items as intended and it holds everything perfectly, not my last product from eberlestock for sure
