Good computer for Mom.
Wiped out Windows 11 and installed Fedora 43 (KDE) (a Linux distro) on it. It works beautifully. I bought it for my mom who just moved into a smaller place. It's hooked up to her TV via an HDMI cable. She uses a wireless keyboard and mouse to access it. She also uses Zoom to communicate with her sisters, who are about 1600 miles away. No problems with any peripherals. WiFi works fine. Computer is quiet, and when the fan is on it's just a whisper. She's not using it for any high performance applications, just web browsing, email, internet radio, and Zoom. She's got a Roku for media, but I tested it with a couple of movies and YouTube and it ran video just fine. No stuttering at all. Ran so well my inlaws are considering asking me to do the same setup. I'm not going to support Windows, so we'll see. Oh, Mom's 88, so it was very important that both hardware and software be simple or at least not too complex. She loves the little computer. ๐

Works very well -- no glithes.
First, Windows 11Pro activated and functions perfectly. I also installed a 2TB M.2 drive in the extra slot for data. It would be easy to install a different OS (Linux) on that extra drive. if yu would like to dual boot. Selecting the drive to boot from is very easy. I am a statistician at a university, so my use is in usual Office applications (particularly complex Excel programs, and of course Word and PowerPoint). Office installed and worked great with no lags. But also, I do a lot of large programming projects with Intel API Fortran. This, along with the Visual Studio environment, also worked well with no noticeable lags. In addtion I use virtual machines frequently; after enabling virtualization in the BIOS, Hyper-V works just as expected. I have also installed and used commercial statistical packages (SPSS, Stata, and SAS). So, I have had no problems at all building what is a highly specialized desktop, and it works very well. I might also say that when I did have a question, support answered me very quickly. In addition, I see drivers for the computer on the GMTech website so, I envision that if I ever need to do a W11 install from scratch it would be easy. Finally, the best testimony I can offer is that I am highly likely to buy another for my wife.

Nice overall system but beware of Realtek NICs
Powerful mini desktop great for Home Server / Home Lab / Home Assistant / Proxmox but disappointed with cheap network/nic cards. With 2 rj45 ethernet ports, I had wrongly assumed that it would have Intel network chips/nics but instead it's Realtek. Realtek isn't as widely supported as the intel ones, especially if you are going to use this as firewall/dhcp server. Shame on me if this was listed somewhere in the specs but it isn't. Hope this is helpful to others.

good
I recently got the GMKtec Nucbox M5 Pro Series Mini PC, and I couldnโt be happier! This little machine packs a punch and handles everything I need it to do. Speed and Performance: The AMD Ryzen 7 5700U processor is super fast. Whether Iโm working on documents, browsing the web, or playing games, it runs smoothly without any lag. Memory and Storage: With 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD, I have more than enough space and speed for all my files and programs. Itโs great to know I can expand if I need more in the future. Connectivity: The dual LAN ports are awesome for fast internet, and the WiFi 6E works great with all my wireless devices. Bluetooth 5.2 makes connecting my keyboard, mouse, and headphones a breeze. Graphics and Display: The graphics are amazing, and I can connect three 4K screens at once. Everything looks crisp and clear, whether Iโm working or watching videos. Compact and Stylish: Itโs small and looks sleek on my desk. It doesnโt take up much space, which is perfect for my setup. Customer Support: The 1-year warranty and helpful customer service give me confidence in my purchase. Overall, this mini PC is a fantastic buy. Itโs powerful, fast, and versatile. Highly recommended!

Fast little PC at a good price.
I use this PC for monitoring a security system. It is mounted behind the monitor and runs great. It boots and runs pretty fast. I have had it for a few months now and have been very pleased with. I use a wireless mouse and keyboard and have had no issues. Recommended. JohnnyF

I bought four
Currently using a cluster of four running ESXi and everything works great. Looks to be very upgrade friendly but was good enough out of the box. The Ryzen 7 5825U enables me to run many VMs while being pretty much silent. An impressive feature for home lab setups where noise can be a concern. The dual 2.5Gbps NICs is the killer feature as you get to test out failover capabilities or run a LAN/WAN router setup. This is especially useful for networking enthusiasts or IT professionals who want to experiment with network redundancy or routing. It fits easily into a compact setup and offers enough power to handle both professional and light entertainment needs. Whether for home lab work, a small business environment, or a personal development setup, itโs a great balance of performance, versatility, and convenience.

One Key Design Flaw
Upon inserting a second M2 ssd with a thin heat sink, I learned of a design flaw: the central fan in the top of the unit is positioned so that only the primary M2 ssd can have a heat sink. The second M2 (if you add one) must forego a heat sink if you plan to keep the necessary fan. ๐
