Men's Leather Dress Ratchet Belt With Automatic Slide Buckle ( Brown,Black)

I got so tired of buying $10 belts only to have them wear out in a few months, showing that they were only made of canvas with a plastic veneer.Slide grip makes it precisely adjustable, no holes to wear out.Four caveats:1. Some assembly required. They keep costs down by only making one size -- WAY too big! You have to trim the length yourself at the head end, punch a hole in the belt and screw the belt to the buckle.2. If you do a lot of lugging and toting in your life, the paint on the buckle will wear off very quickly.3. The grip release button can be a bit small and stiff for arthritic or uncallused thumbs.4. Be sure to thread the belt into the pant loops in the clockwise direction. Otherwise the grip release button will be on the bottom where you can't see it, and you won't know whether to push it or pull it. This can be quite annoying if you need to get your pants down in a hurry!I'll definitely buy another one. Makes a great gift for anyone who has belt trouble.

This is a very attractive belt that works like a charm once you recognize the ratchet clicks and learn to take pressure off the buckle ratchet (suck it in!) to flip release lever. I like how there are no visible holes and small increments in the ratcheting to allow small adjustments to the fits. Unfortunately my 42" waste is at the limits of this belt. So, unless I loose some weight (incentive), I don't get the full variability of this ratchet range (I do occasionally tighten to a second click between meals! But if you over do it you can have a challenge getting it to release. If you test this good luck to you or have an extra pair of hands nearby!). If the slots had run a couple inches closer to the end of the belt I would be happier, but fatter.

This is my 2nd belt like this, the ratcheting buckle, that I have purchased. There aren't clear (the first was all in Chinese) instructions on how to operate it. But tbere is a release latch close to where you first loop it through, lower side of buckle, that has to be pinched. Then held as you thread the belt back to remove it.The firsr time using it will likely be TOUGH!!! I ended up using small pliars to pinch it. Once removed, I sprayed the moving parts with WD40. This makes it easier to deal with. I suggest doing this FIRST before trying ot on. As well as catching the belt closed & releasing it several times. I hope this advice os helpful. Purchased this for everyday wear after being given a more expensive dress belt with a similar mechanism this Christmas. The "zip tie" method works great at securing the belt firmly, though the lack of documentation on the release had me thinking I was going to have to cut the thing off the first time I put it on.There is a little lever on the bottom side of the belt that has to be pulled up, pivoting in place. A little stiff at first, it gets easier to use without any signs of loosening too far.The particular buckle on the belt was the cheapest listed and actually looks vastly better than the pictures. What appears to be a dull tan/bronze center section is really brushed silver with the grain making it darker at some angles.As for being 50", I'm skeptical since the pricier gift belt is truly that and much longer. Thankfully for me the need for this belt is because I'm slowly losing weight and associated diameter, so it being a bit short isn't an issue -- but others needing a longer belt should be warned.So far I really like the belt and will update this review if anything changes.

I absolutely love this belt. I had first seen the "Mission" slide belt at a local store, loved it, but didn't want to spend $40 dollars on one without shopping around first. I found this belt on Amazon searching through the vast numbers of different slide type belts. I settled on the black belt for $9.50, thinking that if it wasn't good quality, I wouldn't be taking much of a loss. Two days later (love Amazon prime) I had the belt in hand. The buckle is beautiful, modern looking, and very well built. The leather of the belt is very clean, soft and a nice rich black. The length was a little long (I wear a size 32-34 waist) but I cut about 4 1/2 inches off the flat end of the belt that fits into the buckle. Perfect fit. In contrary to what most reviews said, the belt is very easy to remove, I just had to get used to pushing the little clasp rather than using the classic hook that I was used to using for the past 35 years. The slide function of the belt allows me to make the finest adjustments to size, where I was once limited to the half inch distances between belt holes, and over time, there won't be scratches or tears like therere from having to use the classic belt. I couldn't be more impressed with the quality, so I went ahead and purchased one of the brown belts as well ($13.50). I spent $23.00 on two belts that I absolutely love, saving almost half of what I would have spent on one name brand belt of the same quality. I highly recommend this product (the many different choices of buckles is a major plus too).

Really like the ratchet belt idea. Had to trim it a bit to fit my waist, but that was easy to do as the buckle is easy to remove and reinstall. However, the buckle only lasted 3 months. One of the screws got loose and fell out. I couldn't find the missing screw, and this meant the buckle wasn't functional anymore. Ended up having to replace the entire buckle. No issues with the belt.

Seriously, if you've never had one of these before, play with the buckle while watching TV for an hour or more before putting it on. It's hard to figure out while wearing, and like other reviewers I almost cut it off of me, but with some effort I managed to slide my pants off instead. After fidgeting with it for a while, I got it, and I love this, wish I'd have found it sooner, I recommend it to everyone.
