Excellent Quality Buckwheat Groats
These buckwheat groats are fresh, clean, and excellent quality. They cook up perfectly and have a wonderful nutty flavor that works well in breakfast bowls, grain dishes, soups, and meal prep. I appreciate that they are gluten-free, non-GMO, and made with simple, wholesome ingredients. The texture is great, and the bag provides excellent value. A nutritious pantry staple that I will definitely buy again. Highly recommend!

Good price, good quality
I love buckwheat! A good source of plant protein and it is gluten free. I grind these in a coffee grinder set aside for this purpose and make my own flour. I make a quick bread that I love from these. I live in a small town and can't buy hulled buckwheat groats locally so it is very convenient to get them delivered to my door. The price per pound is actually lower than price per pound at the health food coop in the next town 50 miles away. I'll definitely be buying this product again.

Great quality.
I have eaten so much buckwheat in my life so I definitely can tell what a good one is. In Russia where I am from we used to eat it every single day. It is our go to grain. So my mom came to visit and here in the States it isnโt common and you canโt really buy it at every store. So I read the reviews and bought this one. And to my surprise and my momโs this was the best buckwheat we ever tried in our whole entire life. It isnโt toasted like Russian one would be. So the taste is a bit different. It is sweeter and more buttery. I will be your customer forever now.

This Ukrainian taste approves!
Best Buckwheat yet I have found. My family came from Odesa by the beach, Ukraine. We ate a lot of Kasha, which is buckwheat groats- not a wheat at all. No gluten, tons of fiber vitamins am=nd minerals, nutty, earthy flavor. It is great with Farfalle pasta- bowties. You can do so much with Kasha. Its a 3 meal a day thing. Its not easy to find in some cities. Impossible in Anchorage were I live. Easier to find an albino black bear. It was much cleaner than popular Russian brand that I got that always needed cleaning, tasted musty, buckwheat keeps for a long time if dry stored. Its yummy . This is excellent Kasha. It is very clean. You need not wash it! Nothing comes off of it. There are no directions in Russian to wash it. I tried making it in a rice cooker twice- too mushy unless substituting for oatmeal. Its a superfood.

Not the "original" taste, but OK.
If you have Eastern European background and expect this to taste like what your Mom/Grandma used to make, that's not it. It's light in color, and texture after cooking will be off, too mushy, and flavor is not as defined and nutty as the proper "grechka". Whoever is telling you it is, is lying to you. I placed some of this buckwheat in a small pot and added boiling water in proportions 1 to 3, and let it sit. Boiled after about 2-3 hours on low heat until all the water was absorbed, added salt and butter. I think it may need a bit of roasting upfront, will try it next. Overall, I will not buy it again because it's not what I'm used to, but it is healthy, apparently, otherwise clean and easy to cook.

Good value
This product is a better value than the big name brand I can buy in my local food store. My mom goes through a five lb bag every three months! The quality is excellent and the size in convenient.
