My 7 year is in love with this book and almost out of paper, and my house is covered in paper archaeopteryx and t-rexes.Difficulty - I would say this book is great for an advanced beginner, but not the first book for a total novice. My 7 year old has been reading simple origami patterns for a couple of years (he could follow pictures before he could read instructions), and he's been able to do everything in this book independently.

I read reviews that said this was good for beginners, the paper is lovely and the book looks pretty but it's a horrible experience for an 8-year-old who doesn't understand the directions. The diagrams are not easy to understand, and there's no real glossary to explain them. A few are explained, but it was a disaster for a very smart boy who felt very very stupid.

This is definitely not for a beginner or younger children. The instructions are not the easiest to follow and I got frustrated putting a couple together for my son who loves dinosaurs. The assorted paper is really nice. I suppose I'll try again another time.

Paper is beautiful and sturdy. Directions require you to be Neil deGrasse Tyson.

A little harder than I anticipate, maybe I will save this a little while for when my kids are older.

I have a son that loves origami, and another son that loves dinosaurs. They were so excited when they got this kit, they played with it together for a long time and still continue to pull it out and make more dinosaurs!!

Our seven year old grandson is very creative, good with Lego and building, but he needs help with this.

Shiny, thick, slippery dual paper is a waste for models with no color change in the design.Tsk, tsk: diagrams do not always correspond to the photos (photos better). Also errors in diagrams.

Decent amount of paper but projects were a bit too difficult for a beginner and instructions don't support a new user well

Probably better for experienced origami makers.
