Doctor Who: The Phaser Aliens & Other Stories: Doctor Who Audio Annual

This was a good idea, in theory. Trawl through the over twenty Dr Who annuals from the original series, take the best stories from them, and get well-known names to dramatize them. Unfortunately, the tales in those annuals are sub-par at best, and if these are amongst the better-quality offerings, which you have to assume they are, then heaven help us: what must the rest be like… There is a bit of a nostalgic thrill to be had from the early entries with earth scientist Dr Who travelling the universe alone in Tardis, but that’s about all. I give an extra star for the narrators who do their best with the material and almost save some of it. Almost.
