Midnight Love

Bought Midnight Love & Let's Get It On together. Big Marvin Gaye fan from many years ago & it's really good to hear him at the height of his career.

Decided to buy this album after reading his book Trouble Man. I wasn't impressed with the album when it was originally released as it wasn't up to the quality of Whats Going On however its a great effort when you consider the state of his mind in the 80s.

so happy to have this CD in my collection. it is a must have CD. I was only interested in Sexual Healing but ended up liking all the tracks especially Third World girl. you wont be disappointed.

With a voice only rivalled by Barry White in the seduction stakes, Marvin Gaye had a chance to record this marvellous album in Belgium at a time when his career and personal life had hit rock bottom. Not even knowing where Belgium was he took the offer quickly as a method of escaping his problems and doing what he did best - record great music. Supposed to be the first of a three album deal with CBS following an angry exit from Motown, Gaye's laid back style shone through, with opening track 'Midnight Love' setting the tone of an album that also contains the classic '(Sexual) Healing'. Late night listening.

What must I say about Mr. MARVIN GAYE that is not known? nothing at all!! but nonetheless: nothing is wrong with expressing myself. This classic recording "MIDNIGHT LOVE" is MARVIN'S final great gift to us. At times I listen to his music and wonder how can a soul and a life be so tormented and yet from it issues some of the most beautiful musical expressions I've ever experienced..I believe that nothing can block the release of talent!!On this effort you are in for mostly lively efforts expressing strong sexual desire, yearning, satisfaction and fear of loneliness...The recording is well written, arranged and produced and to have it reissued on a digitally remastered compact disc has done this stunning output justice."MIDNIGHT LADY", "ROCKING AFTER MIDNIGHT", "TURN ON SOME MUSIC" and "THIRD WORLD GIRL" are all stunningly lively soothing songs,may I also mention "'TIL TOMORROW" which is the only true ballad here.. are all very significant in all aspects of greatness but let's not forget perhaps his singular greatest hit and certainly one of the greatest songs ever recorded, the time-tested, all nourishing "SEXUAL HEALING" its here!! ...plus there's also another "hidden' gem..the lively, yearning and anxious "MY LOVE IS WAITING" it's like a prelude to "SEXUAL HEALING". To me personally "MY LOVE IS WAITING" is the most impacting song here!! The last song on his last album...The entire album is a true treasure!!There's a nice inlay booklet with a fine essay, song lyrics, extra photos and production notes..overall an excellent, lasting presentation..One of the most wondrous paradoxes with our singers is even though they're gone..they're still here with us..you can relive the live moments any time you want.I recommend this final great gift from Mr. MARVIN GAYE to all who need to hear, experience musical excellence!!
