As You Grow: A Modern Memory Book for Baby (Heirloom Story Books and Guided Journals)

I am completely blown away by this baby book! I was looking for a beautiful book that I could document my baby girl's early years into but did not want the standard "cheesy", kitschy books you see that are typically filled with hot pink flowers, hearts and butterflies. I wanted something elegant, modern and pretty enough that I would be proud to display it on my coffee table. I also wanted to make sure that it wasn't just pretty, but that it was functional and detailed to the things that I was interested in documenting. Well this baby book completely fulfilled every expectation and then some! Upon opening it, I was amazed at the quality of the cover and binding, considering it was so reasonably priced. The linen detail is stunning and will be beautiful displayed on any bookshelf or table. When you open the book, every single page is touched by the most perfect artwork that gives the feel of something really unique and special. You can tell that not one thing in this book was "copy and pasted". EVERY SINGLE DETAIL was actually hand created by and ACTUAL artist! Another feature that makes this book top on my list is the spiral binding. I know this may not be a big deal in theory but I had actually bought another baby book that had a standard bind and it was near impossible to write in! I spent so much time pushing the book down into place and would get so frustrated trying to write close to the center. I thought the book would never hold up over time with this continued action. This baby book opens perfectly and you can take your time planning and writing on each page. A HUGE bonus! And then to the actual content!! Again, the previous book I had used had strange wording and I found myself thinking "I don't care enough to write about this." Well not this book! Every single page has meaningful content and topics to write about that I would have never thought about but things I definitely wanted to remember. There is a place for guests that visit baby in the first few days to write a message, places to put pictures, a page for every major holiday, and even a stunning page to put the baby's footprints right into the book (take it to the hospital with you)! There is also a whole section that goes all the way up to five years old with places for them to draw pictures every year so you can watch their progress! One of my very favorite things is the very last section of the book that has tons and tons of pages to write letters to your baby with prompts and everything. This book has blown away my expectations in every single way and I cannot even wait to fill it completely out. It is something that I will cherish forever and ever. Seriously buy one for everyone of your kids and at least 10 for baby showers! You will not regret it!

Finally, a modern baby book! When looking for a baby book to document my daughter's first year, I was frustrated at the lack of modern and detailed books that were available. The style of "As You Grow" is delicate yet sturdy, detailed yet minimalistic, structured yet open-ended. This book chronicles years 0-5 with its emphasis on your baby's first year. Pages that may not apply (ie: Christmas or Hanukkah) can easily be removed without leaving a gaping hole or tear in your book as the book is bound in a way that allows this! They have also left room for your book to grow thicker with pictures and artwork (so the pages won't outgrow the spine)! The book is also open for different family structures and is gender neutral decorated with gorgeous calligraphy and airy, whimsical drawings of plants and leaves. So much thoughtfulness has been put into this book and it shows! Sections of the book are separated by sturdy "pockets" that you can put letters/pages/artwork/cards in. They are made very well and don't "stick out" in a way that some pockets do in memory books. They flow seamlessly with the pages and provide a nice texture variation to separate the book's main "chapters" which include: * Before There Was You (The Pregnancy) * And Suddenly You Were My Everything (Birth and the First Weeks) * Discovering You (Months 1-12) * Memorable Moments (Firsts, Stories, and How you Made us Laugh) * Watching you Grow (Childhood Highlights (Ages 2-5) *You are So Loved (Letters to Baby) The purpose of a baby book is not just for you to remember but eventually to pass on to your chlid as an adult. Your child will appreciate "As You Grow" as a work of love when they are older as it chronicles their first 5 years of life in a special, witty, and thoughtful way. The book itself seems like it will last through the years. The pages aren't flimsy at all but more like cardstock. The binding itself seems dependable/hardy yet looks delicate. This is the most beautiful baby book that I've seen, and I've looked at a lot of them while searching for the perfect one for my kids. From the linen cover to the gold spiral binding to the stunning hand drawings, watercolor paintings, and calligraphy inside, this book is truly a work of art. The quality is amazing too! It's a nice, sturdy book with heavy, thick pages that will definitely stand the test of time. The book has prompts for everything you can think of, lots of pockets to hold photos and mementos, and one really neat feature is that because of the way it is bound, you can easily tear out pages that don't apply to you without disturbing the integrity of the book. I love that the book goes from birth to five years because it allows you to include all the sweet little memories of the moments that occur in those first years, from birthdays, to the first day of school, to childhood favorites, it even has a section for your child's first tricycle! One of my very favorite things is at the back of the book there is a section called "Letters to My Baby," that includes lots of blank, lined pages, and that space is inteded for you, as well as family members and close friends, to write letters to your child as they grow. What a beautiful gift to give your child! I really can't say enough about this baby book. It is THE perfect, gender-neutral baby book! As You Grow pretty much blew my expectations out of the water! It is incredibly detailed, the lettering and illustrations are perfect in every way whether you have a baby girl or baby boy. I just had my 2nd little guy 3 weeks ago and as soon as this came in the mail, I HAD to get started on it. I didn’t keep a memory book with my 1st, but I remember a lot of what should he recorded in this book, so I will very likely purchase another and fill in the blanks for my 3 year old boy! I really love that there are plenty of pages where you can write your birth story, add pictures, put keepsakes in the pockets all throughout the book and in the back, there’s a space to write letters to your child all throughout their life. Everything is so unique and thoughtful, I’m so excited to have all of these sweet memories recorded in such a beautiful book. It is more beautiful than any memory book I’ve seen! I spent a lot of time trying to find the best baby book and I’m so glad I went with this one. It’s timeless and not cartoony, gender neutral, the pages are high quality and on a spiral so it’s easy to cut out any you don’t need. I like how pretty the pages are, it makes it more fun to flip through as opposed to the cheaper ones with basic blank pages. There’s a place for firsts (bath, haircut, etc), photo for each month, about the parents, price of things when you were born, photo of your house, your nursery, day you were born, footprints, baby shower, pregnancy, first holidays, first seasons, first birthday, first photo as a family, a page at the end of each section to write any thoughts/notes on that stage of life, and more, plus some lined empty pages in the back to write letters to your baby, and each section has a little pocket to put little keepsakes in. There is a lot of things it gives you the ability to document, but not so much that it’s overwhelming and you can always take out any pages you don’t use. This was clearly very well thought out and is worth the money. You won’t regret going with this one.

Let me start off by saying I NEVER leave reviews But this baby book is just too good for me not to leave A review. I’m 39 weeks pregnant and I’ve been looking my entire pregnancy for the perfect baby book. Trust me I’ve looked everywhere I even looked at some baby books that were $100. But to no avail I couldn’t ever find exactly what I was looking for. With only one week left until my little one is here I started getting desperate and decided that I would just take a chance on this book and order it. I wanted a gender neutral book that allowed me to put a lot of detail into it especially since this is my first baby. One question that I had about this baby book that I couldn’t find the answer to and the reviews is does this book have a place for holidays. Valentines, Halloween Thanksgiving?? It most certainly does!! My family and I celebrate Christmas and it’s huge to us!!! I was hoping that there would be a place in this book for Christmas specifically and there was!! for those who celebrate Hanukkah instead there’s a place for that as well! This book also includes seasons and other areas for small details. I have combed through every single page of this baby book and I love the detail that’s packed into it. The creator of this book has thought of things that even I haven’t thought of recording. Do yourself a favor and stop looking for the perfect baby book. You just found it!! You won’t be disappointed if you’re looking for a gender neutral book that’s slam packed with detail and did I mention it has pockets to put things in !?! If there are pages in the book that you don’t want to Write in you can simply cut them out. My only wish for this book would be that the binding would be removable so you can organize the pages in whatever order you would like but that’s just if I really wanted to get tedious about details. (It’s not a big enough issue to me to give it any less stars than 5!)

Ultimately, I love this baby book and have already filled a considerable amount. The artwork is very pretty and I love that it isn't covered in cutesy animals like so many baby books seem to be. My biggest issue is with the fact that certain pages don't work for me but can't be removed without losing pages I want to keep. The biggest example of this is in the very first page. The first thing you see is a family tree. The page on the back is one of the two pages introducing the parents, which I obviously want to keep. However my husband and I both have several difficult family relationships and didn't want to add those family members to a tree especially since we are not in contact with them and baby will never meet them. I feel like this could've been better approached by allowing prompts instead, for example "your parents:," "your grandparents:," "your great-grandparents:" that way we could choose who to add and who not to add. The monthly pages are a little odd too. Do normal newborns have a favorite book? My son is a NICU baby who slept through most of his first month of life. We just put down the book we read to him while he slept...

I did an extensive search before finally deciding on this book for my first baby girl. I wanted something that was beautiful, unique and detailed and this book meets my expectations and beyond! Everything about it is perfect, from the gorgeous cover to the illustrated pages down to the lovely font. I was a bit hesitant only due to the spiral inside that holds all the pages but the fact that it showed a regular covered spine holds it all together eased my mind a bit. Hopefully it holds up well over time. I didn't want the traditional generic, pastel and cartoon animal styled book. This one is so beautifully illustrated with gorgeous greens, black and brown hues so it remains very gender neutral. It was very important to me that the book had a page dedicated to every month of her first year as well as the following 4 years and this one gives you that. I also wanted a pocket to keep things inside and this book gives you several throughout the pages for artwork and other keepsakes. It includes holidays, family tree, letters to baby, and all the firsts and favorites you could possibly think of. I consider myself to be creative/crafty so I definitely wanted something that allowed me to write a good amount of information and to make it my own at the same time. There are so many books out there with prompts for photos and very little space to write much. That might work for some but I wanted more than that and this book gives the perfect balance of writing prompts, photo space and room to write additional information. I would highly recommend this book to anyone that wants a beautiful, timeless and detailed baby book. Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful book!

It’s a nice memory to build through time for your little one

The book is lovely! So well made and has almost all the milestones. High quality paper and pockets before each chapter so keep sakes can be stored. A book cover would be appreciated as this being cream coloured canvas it will be tricky to keep it clean. 2 pieces of advice: 1. Have a few first joolidays blanks as families might have their own traditions or holidays from their Faith's. 2. Have other colours for the artwork as I'll definitely buy another one when we have our second baby.

This is a beautiful book suitable for a boy or girl, the botanical illustrations and are gorgeous & classy. I like that it's bound with a spiral spine so it lays flat to write in, and you can tear out pages that aren't written on so you don't end up with blank pages. It also has pockets to stash any extra pictures, documents, letters, etc. I didn't realize that it goes up to 5 years old, so filling out that much info is a bit daunting, but it gets less detailed after the first year. I worry a bit that the cream coloured cloth cover will get dirty quickly, it already has pet hair stuck to it, but overall I'm extremely happy with this book.
