La Savonnerie Bourbonnaise shaving soap is made in a small cottage in Auvergne, south-central France, and rendered in the ancient method of cold saponification. No additives or preservatives are used, and the soap is made with ingredients coming from local organic farming. The soap is cured for six weeks, and no palm oil or derivatives or beef tallow are used. Activated charcoal is included in the base for gentle extraction - the scent is a complex one, something along the lines of a chai latte, seasonal winter potpurri, etc. The soap is approximately 62mm wide and weighs approximately 65 grams. Like any soap employing sodium hydroxide rather than potassium hydroxide, the stability of the foam is more difficult to achieve - but here you will be able to do so with practice, and enjoy some great advantages of moisture and closeness of shave.
