Years ago my mother bought a very ornate, high quality 12 place setting flatware set of her dreams (including serving pieces). Neither my brother nor I loved it like she did but fast forward a few years and my soon-to-be daughter-in-law picked the exact same pattern for her wedding registry. So they got the perfect wedding present "from grandma", but there was no storage box, and with lots of other expenses for the wedding it wasn't a priority at the time. Now it's 5 years later and my son and DIL's anniversary was coming up and I realized the traditional 5-year gift is wood, and the contemporary is flatware --- a wooden flatware storage box was the obvious choice of present. Given the ornate and "chunky" nature of the flatware pattern a one-level storage box seemed like it would be tight or maybe not even hold all the pieces -- I have a very streamlined pattern and a one-level box holds everything perfectly.They absolutely love the box and this will allow them to pull their flatware down from a cardboard box on the top shelf of the pantry and actually use it. Helps keep my reputation as best mother-in-law ever!

The Silver Chest is perfect for the 24, 5 piece place settings it was intended for. PLUS, additional storage for close to a dozen serving pieces. The outside finish, and felt lined interior are handsome atop my buffet.

This is a functional item but no heirloom. It will work great if you are just needing a good way to stash a silver flatware set. We put a service for twelve in ours, it was a tight fit but it fit. That having been said the quality is commecerate with the price.

Fit my 65 piece serving set perfectly and has room for even more pieces. The dividers are well spaced and the hardware is well attached. I am concerned about the drawers sliding out if it is being moved from one area to another as they slide really easily, but it is not anything that a cute well placed latch and lock can't fix. I'm thinking of adding corner embellishments and a latch to keep the top closed as well. I'm super pleased with the value of the piece and having one storage solution for 3 different sets of flatware now. (A 65 piece set, a 20 piece, and another 30 piece)

will do for what i need but materials mediocre and the knife slots do not fit the wider bladed knives of my stief silverware. Also won't hold more than 5 forks in a slot.
