The elephant in the room: can this attachment replace a string trimmer, edger, and brush cutter? For many people, yes. Vs. String Trimmer: This cuts more precisely because you can see exactly where the blade ends. It does not “mulch” weeds the same way a string trimmer does, but it cuts clean. It is heavier than a trimmer, but once you get the hang of it, it glides along the ground and cuts at about one inch. In some ways, that makes it less tiring. It will cut anything a string trimmer will, plus a lot more. Big bonus: it does not sling debris all over your ankles, face, and eyes. Much safer. Also, no more string drama. Just sharpen the blade eventually. Vs. Brush Cutter: It is not as powerful as a true brush cutter. It will not chop down small trees or heavy brush, so it is a step down there. But again, it does not launch debris into your face, legs, and eyes. That is a major plus. Vs. Edger: I do not edge, so no comment . Bottom line: For most people, I would recommend buying this instead of buying all three other tools. If you have serious heavy brush, you will still need a brush cutter. Many people say that since buying this, they have not pulled out their string trimmer or brush cutter. I can see why.

I like how simple the assembly was. One Hex Head bolt, two 90-degree locking pins, and two hitch pins. Simple and effective. Even the box was well engineered. I think only 2 pieces of cardboard were glued to the big piece. Once connected to the Multi Head with a battery, it is HEAVY. It works great but provides a great workout. The Multi-Head, purchased separately, has 2 speeds so you can tailor the speed to your needs. I edged my driveway with another Ego tool and had a lot of grass and dirt on the driveway. The Ego Brush was great to loosen the packed dirt from the concrete driveway. After loosening everything, I had a lot to move, and although the brush could have done it, I used my Ego 765 blower to blow it all into a pile. This is another well-engineered Ego tool that will do a great job when I use it infrequently.

I bought this to use on artificial grass to try and clean the dirt, crumbled leaves, and moss from the nap of the grass carpet. WOW! This thing is awesome! Using it per instructions was a bit tough for me as I had to push down sort of hard to keep the brush from “walking” forwards and away from me. NOTE: try using this upside down! Just attach it to your Ego head, flip it over, then turn on and pull it towards you. MUCH easier to control and did a fantastic job scrubbing the artificial grass. I could not believe the tons of debris, dirt, moss, etc. that it scrubbed out. I did not wet the turf or apply any water or chemicals - best if done on a dry surface I found. WARNING: if you use as I have suggested, better wear long pants, old shoes, and safety glasses. It will cover you with the debris, but you will be amazed at how it looks when done, like new! I tried this on some dirt and loose gravel on my driveway and same fantastic result. I also tried it with some mildew cleaner on my driveway, but wasn’t satisfied with the result, that needed a heavier machine to get down into the concrete surface and scrub that stuff out. This is a great attachment to have if you need to scrub moss, dirt, rocks and such on some basis. As an aside, I tried it on snow on my driveway, pointed in the right direction this time, and it will push some snow (not ice) with no problem! Great addition to my Ego product set. Love all their stuff (except maybe the weed trimmer, never have luck with those). The hedge trimmer, tree trimmer, chain saw attachment (for limb ups and dropping small diameter trees) and the blower are all top performers in my experience.

This attachment alone is worth buying the multi-head system. If you have brushy areas that would chew through your trimmer line, this beast will cut them down to size. It easily handles brush up to the 3/4-inch thick size that is specified, and probably a little more. It is a heavy spinning blade so going through a 4 or 5Ah battery is a workout, but the results are satisfying. A shoulder strap his highly recommended with this. Cutting brush down to the base and applying brush killer is very effective. One thing to watch out for: It is a little too easy to not perfectly align the giant ninja-star blade on the hub. It can shift while you are tightening the retaining nut. When this happens the tool will vibrate like a jackhammer. if that happens, make sure your blade is centered and try again.

It is true this thing is heavy and it is a burden and it is a lot of fun because it tries to control you but if you're able to control it then it is very effective, extremely. Clears Stone from grass back into the driveway with ease. Make yourself a harness. And it's powerful so that's good, again don't let it control you you control it

Didn’t seem like a big weight difference between the carbon fiber and aluminum pole saw to justify the higher cost. Most of the weight is in the saw not the pole. As some people have reported initial connecting the power head to the attachment was not easy. I had to finagle the attachment. I had the same issue with the extender. As far as doing the job I had no issues. The saw did a good job cutting the branches. I did attach the strap to help balance the pole saw. Easier to operate and i feel safer than the gas powered models especially when working from a ladder. I had no issue with battery life as the saw outlasted me.

This is a very well built unit. Its counter rotating blades go through heavy dense growth of weeds like a hot knife through butter, much better than a string trimmer. Also, it is more precise when trimming under bushes or near flowers or under hedges without damaging them, unlike a string trimmer. The only downside is that it is heavy, especially when you factor in the power head and battery. It’s a good thing the power head included a shoulder harness with the power head. Unlike a string trimmer, it does not scalp the grass like when you bump the string trimmer to let out more line. This has a similar round domed area under the bottom blade that prevents scalping if you keep the blades parallel to the ground, it has bearings so the bottom blade can rotate freely. Additionally, it does not load your shoes and pant legs with grass/weeds clippings like a string trimmer. The blades move at a lower speed than the lines on string trimmer. It can edge the lawn also, but I haven’t tried that yet.

I bought this a year ago and have been using it ever since. As a matter of fact, I used it just this week. Quite honestly, this thing is powerful and cuts through brush like butter! ​In the year that I've owned it, I have done zero maintenance on it—no sharpening, no cleaning, nothing. ​I just pop it onto the multi-head, pop in a battery, and go cut brush. It does an excellent job every time.

Great product. Works better than expected. I see why people say it's heavy and a lot of work to use, but it's manageable and worth it. So much faster and more effective than raking. Not only gets the rocks from gravel driveway but all small debris from trees and sticks that is hard to rake. I actually use it with an 80V greenworks pro attachment capable trimmer. I didn't want to switch because I have about 6 or 7 tools that use the same 80v batteries. First I removed the nylon bushing in the steel tubing. Than the small round bar drive shaft going down to the gear box pulled right out. In a vise I used a grinder and file to change the slightly larger spline tip to a square (keystock looking) tip. I had to cut it down a bit as well with a zip disc. Luckily everything was larger and I just slowly took off material to fit the male tip into the female adapter on the greenworks. Took less than an hour to do the work and put everything together. Now I would probably work with other brands as well.

When though tall weeds and bush no problem .

Great quality as expected from Ego. Tool is a bit heavy, long jobs can be tiring. Would buy again

Got a lot of ego tools,this one is a great addition, works really well and with some force, needs a big battery on it though.
