I was so hopeful :/ Major limitations - UPDATE I RETRACT EVERYTHING
1. I am still waiting to hear back from pet libro but based on the app it looks like there is no option to repeat the same schedule everyday. That is the ENTIRE reason i bought this feeder. We are traveling to Italy and I wont have internet to sit and hit repeat schedule everyday. I want my pet sitter to be able to just put the food in every morning and not have to worry about it. 2. Stainless steel bowls are a must! This is plastic so thats gunna be an issue in the long run 3. It closes if my cat doesnt eat within 30 minutes? My cat is an idiot and doesnt come to sounds all the time so the fact that he will for sure miss meals because of that is pretty crazy. Unfortunately, I will be returning this solely because I can not repeat the schedule daily. I hope they fix this some day because there is no other point of having a feeder if you don't have the option to do this! EDIT- WITHIN THE SAME WEEK OF WRITING THIS!!! Petlibro contacted me and made a full app update. They have changed everything I was complaining about originally! This feeder is officially amazing! The only thing left is to hopefully have stainless steel bowls in the future and I think the food is a little bit on the cold side when served. All the other issues have been resolved and I am so impressed with their customer service! THANK YOU PET LIBRO!!!! This is a life changing machine and will make our lives sooooo much easier!

DANGER. Your cat may be poisoned. App is DREADFUL. Just. Say. No.
Update: After using for six months the thermo electric cooler failed but there is no indication in the app. The first sign that I had was my cat vomiting all ove my house. There seems to be a sensor that should be monitoring the temp that doesn't alert anything. The TE coolers are notoriously unreliable so not monitoring the temp is absolutely unforgivable. I really think these developers have sat around trying to find ways to make the app hideously painful to use. Let’s start with the fact that I’ve only had this turd of an app for a day and it has already logged me out 3 times. My bank apps aren’t even that painful. Come on idiots, this is cat food it doesn’t need to be Fort Knox, let my phone security do its thing. As a result I’m going to use a password that’s trivial. Bye bye any sense of resulting security. Dumb Second they build a ton of interlocks around activating the food trays so in just one day I’ve had to re enter all the schedules from scratch at least 3 times on 2 units. And it’s incredibly painful to do. Can’t just copy from a past event. My cats eat at the same time every day. But 4 meals not three. So I can’t just repeat the feeding schedule every day (literally the one and only feature added to make it easier) and I can’t just create a list of meal times and pick from the list. OMG that would be amazing. No. I have to use about 50 clicks to generate each meal from scratch every single time. It would actually be easier just to set a reminder on my phone and manually open the doors on a schedule, but they make that painful too. I’ve had to blow away the whole program just to manually open a door because the time was accidentally left at one minute—which is the default value. So 10 minutes and 200clicks later…. Like I said they sit around thinking of ways of making it more painful to use. Oh and you can’t look at a combined log of feeding. You have to pick each device and dig into its log to see what was eaten from it. I can’t begin to tell you how poorly designed this app is. What I’ve said so far is the tip of the iceberg. It is pretty though. Personally I’d rather have something that was delightful to use than pretty.

Great Wet Food Feeder
I frequently go on weekend trips and needed a reliable solution to feed my cat while I'm away. Friends and family have helped in the past, but that's not always feasible. After extensive research on wet food feeders, I found that keeping the food chilled is essential to prevent spoilage. Most options on Amazon use cold packs that only last a day or so. Then I came across this feeder, and despite the mixed reviews, I decided to give it a try. I’m two weeks into using it, and so far, it’s been working great. It feeds on time and keeps the wet food properly chilled. Cleaning the base and feeding dish is straightforward and easy. With an upcoming trip, I'm excited to rely on this feeder. However, there are a few cons. I was surprised that there are no accessory options, like a stainless steel or porcelain feeding dish. Many pet owners prefer not to use plastic. Additionally, the feeder lacks an audio recording feature for feeding times, which even the cheapest dispensers on Amazon have. My cat doesn't respond to the "ding ding" sound and hasn't yet associated it with mealtime. I have to show him that the feeder is open and he can eat. The scheduling feature seemed a bit complicated initially, and the repeat feeding option didn’t work for me. The app isn’t terrible but could use some improvements, such as the ability to view the current temperature, since the unit does have a temperature sensor. Overall, if you're looking for a way to feed your pet wet food while you're away, this is a good option and likely the best currently on the market. I hope the company listens to customer suggestions and updates their app, as well as providing additional accessories for this product.

Well designed feeder with app growing-pains
I've had this feeder for a few months now, and I mostly love it. It works well and has markedly improved our mornings. It looks good, and my cat likes eating from it. It's quiet, and the gentle ding telling him his food is ready is pleasant. 10/10 in product design. The downfall of this feeder is its app and its scheduling. It works, but it took a lot of trial and error to figure out. Here are some notes: - You must schedule at least 30 minutes of downtime between meals (I recommend 35). - You can only have a meal out for up to 4 hours. - If you're feeding your cat a repeating schedule of 3 meals a day, schedule the last meal in the "feeding" ("down") position and never change the positions of the meals when you replace the food. My cat has three meals a day: his meds, his breakfast, and then his dinner. Because we want him to take his meds before his breakfast, we schedule it as a meal. That and breakfast must be at least 30m apart (after the door closes). So, his schedule is: - 5:15am to 5:25am - meds - 6am to 10am - breakfast - 6 pm to 10 pm - dinner When I set up the schedule, dinner is in the "down" ("feeding") position, meds in the "top-left," and breakfast in the "top-right." You schedule the dinner in the "down" so that when the schedule goes to repeat, the last meal is where it should be based on how the schedule was set up. This lets you refill the trays at any time during the day so long as you don't change the position of the meals at that time. When breakfast was exactly 30 minutes after his meds meal finished, the feeder would sometimes miss breakfast entirely. I think this is a bug and is why now I have 35 minutes between feedings. I've also had updates come to the app that just break his schedule entirely, and I have to delete and recreate it. I think all of this is the growing pains of a new piece of software. They're regularly releasing updates and mostly adding utility. In the future, I want to know what position the tray should be in when you take it out to clean and refill. In a perfect future, the three bowls would be labeled, and there would only be one orientation to put them back into the feeder so it can never be mixed up. All this said I love this feeder. As I said, it's sleek and well-designed and does its job well; our cat loves it. Our cat used to be a nightmare in the mornings, trying to wake us up to feed him at the crack of dawn. Now, he's learned that it's the feeder's job and knows to expect it at the same time every day. He's still a nightmare, but a nightmare who lets us sleep in.

Lifesaver
I was researching a refrigerated we food automatic feeder last month. I was getting a new cat and this product was only out for a week or so. I didn't buy one as all I could find was the ice pack ones and this but this item had mixed reviews. Everyone said the product was good but the app was lacking so I held off. A week ago I got my cat and again found myself on amazon looking for a solution for when I am out of the house overnight. I have family that can stop in but I really wanted to make sure my cat got fresh wet food everyday even if they were stuck and this does that for up to 3 feedings. He gets we food once a day so this would cover us for 3 days. I use it along with the Petlibro Air feeder for dry food. There is a 30. minute preparation time to get it to temperature that is more appealing to eat. This product keeps the food fresh and when it is time to serve it is just chilled, not cold. My cat doesn't seem to mind and in fact, seems to prefer how this food is served to warm wet food. It has opened every time on schedule and the food was at the right temp. The app was updated 2 days before I purchased mine so I can only speak to the recent app release. It is easy to program but one thing I noticed is the feature to label a meal wasn't clear at first. For me, the compartment that I put to be served first was not as when it activated at feeding time it rotated the tray but the app didn't reflect that. After the first time and realizing it I can adjust how I label food in the app, I figured it out quickly. It matters because I'm trying to figure out what food my cat likes. Each compartment had a different flavor that looks similar. It's hard to tell just looking at what is left over in the tray which flavor it is. Keeping track of which compartment was fed first was easy to figure out after the first day. The recent update allows for a feeding time of up to 4 hours. This is nice because it took him a little while to figure out that it wasn't available all day and now he eats it all within 2 hours so I've adjusted how long it stays open. It also has a sensor to show you on the app how many times your cat went to the feeder and for how long. that gave me an idea of when he was eating the bulk of the food so I could adjust when to set it to close to train him to eat it earlier in the feeding schedule. Even if you leave it for 4 hours, I have felt the food and it is still cool so I feel ok about it being open that long. One thing the app doesn't have for me but is supposed to is a feed now option. It is supposed to let you open it at any time, even during the 30 min preparation prior to feeding time. It takes 30 min to adjust to feeding temp but it would be nice to open it at anytime. As it stands, I have to schedule a feed 30 min from that moment if I need to feed him off schedule, not a deal breaker but hopefully with the next update that will show up for me. I took away one star simply for the app quirks but as far as reliability and function this product delivers. Definitely worth the investment for the convenience of keeping my cat on schedule. Update: I've had this for one year now. The app no longer has issues and it works reliably even when the power goes out. Also, you can now open it anytime with the app update. Could not be happier with this product. Added back the one star for improvements.

So wanted to love this, but...
I ended up returning it. The first issue was not necessarily the product's fault... my youngest cat was deathly afraid of it. I don’t know if it was the low hum of the cooling unit or the air venting from the side, but she eyed it very suspiciously before finally getting up the courage to approach it for a run-by swatting. It took several days for her to actually, semi-willingly, eat from it. And even then she wouldn't eat more than a bite. I would scoop the food out put into a different bowl, but she wouldn’t touch that either. I don’t know if it was just still too cold for her or if there was a scent to it that rubbed her the wrong way, but I'd end up opening a new can - spooning it into her old bowl - and she'd eat that with no problem. My older cat was fine with the feeder existing in her area. The only problem was that it repeatedly decided to open to the last opened (read EMPTY) tray, instead of the next in the rotation. That was, at least, WHEN it opened. There was one night that I really needed it to work as intended, since I wasn't around as backup. Well, it didn’t open at 6pm, as scheduled. I arrived home at 7:30pm, and for some reason decided to check the feeding log. Mind you, this is my girl who bombards you with starvation cries immediately after being fed, so if I hadn't checked it I wouldn't have actually known she hadn't been fed at all. As for the design, it needs some improvement as far as the opening is concerned. The tray section would maybe be wide enough if it was a freestanding raised bowl, but with it essentially sunken down into the unit, it's no better than any other bowl that doesn’t account for whisker fatigue. It was difficult for my girl to get all of the food out, as the tray sits on a center post (for lack of a better term) and has a tendency to teeter slightly with each lick. So there was a constant tapping sound of the tray being pushed down (only maybe an eighth of an inch or so, but still a problem) and rising back up with every attempt to grab food. This girl is notorious for cleaning her bowl, so well, you wouldn’t even know there was ever wet food in it. This was not possible with the tray shallowness and opening shape, and the subtle movements of the plastic tray. The feeder, while raised, is also not a great substitute for a raised bowl. There is something about the placement of the opening, in relation to the front of the unit, that makes it more of an awkward reach. Again, with the tray being more sunken down into the unit, this makes it even less of a comfortable angle especially when coupled with the tray doing its subtle bouncy bounce keep away game (almost the equivalent of the classic bowl that keeps sliding across the floor). The scheduler was temperamental. Multiple times it would not let me use the edit feature and my only choice was to delete the existing schedule and start over from scratch. So something needs improvement there, as well. Overall, it's a great idea. And maybe in another couple years they will improve upon it. But as it is in its current version, for me, it's very disappointing.

Life-saver to feed my cat in the middle of the night!
Like many cat owners, my cat Zorro makes it his life's mission to wake me up around 5am to demand breakfast: the automatic kibble dispenser isn't enough - he wants his wet food too. It's got to be a full, two-course affair for him! So after sustained efforts to try and train him to wait until a more reasonable hour (to no avail), my routine has long since been to get up, feed him and then desperately try to claw back whatever sleep I could afterwards. I've never trusted the wet food dispensers out there and it was purely by chance that a few months after its release I discovered Petlibro Polar. It took me some time to make up my mind - it being a new product and first of its kind on the market (I at least had never seen refrigerated automatic feeders before), I seemed to see there were some teething pains among users in terms of functionality, app updates, etc. and, living in Europe, I was worried about ordering it from the US in case the month-long return window wasn't long enough to address any potential issues or for my cat to take to it. In the end, I took the plunge, I really needed my nights back. I can safely say it was a life-changing decision and I'm so happy I did it! It took Zorro a bit of time to figure out what the machine did, he didn't respond to the sound the way he did to his long-time kibble feeder, so I would still get up to show him what happened when the ding sounded, and he would happily eat out of the open tray. I placed both machines next to each other, timed so that they would dispense in staggered fashion so he wouldn't wander off to nag me between "courses". With patience and a few more sleepless nights, he got the gist of it and his 5am breakfasts are now autonomous from me. I'm lucky in that Zorro is very much a Garfield, he will gobble up everything in sight (not always ideal, but useful in this context), so I didn't have to worry about the door closing before he finished eating the way I know some parents of cats who are grazers do. But beyond the benefits of having this machine now, I want to very much commend and thank the Petlibro customer service team for being incredibly helpful, kind and responsive. I have been in touch with them a fair bit since I got the machine - I had some issues with set-up (there was an issue with the WiFi connection I couldn't figure out), as well as questions regarding empty trays opening when I only had a couple meals set to dispense in a meal plan, the hot plug issue that I've seen several users mention, and condensation in the refrigerated area. Every single time, the team at Petlibro took the time to respond clearly and patiently to my questions and offer reassurance, help and effective solutions, including replacement if needed - thankfully that hasn't been necessary. None of the issues I had were malfunctions, but all of them could be addressed in order to ensure a smooth user experience. I think the one I needed to get my head around more is how the rotation of the trays works when your meal plans don't involve three full trays, but rather only two, or even one. Perhaps that's something that can be communicated to users more clearly - the tray rotates counter clockwise, and so that impacts which trays you need to fill if you only need to use two, for instance. In any case, every time I've had a question, about this or anything else, I've had an excellent customer service experience and I really want to highlight that. It's really important for them to get the necessary feedback to continually improve this product, which is such a godsend for all us pet owners who have been desperately looking for a viable and reliable way to safely feed wet food to our kitties (or doggos!) either in the middle of the night or when away for a few days. Thank you!

Not automatic and only works for specific cats
Tried this for one month and returned it. - Trays rotating out of order or into empty trays. I had to get a camera specifically to manually rotate the trays from the app to the one that has food. This defeats the purpose of the automatic feature. - Too tall for my cat. My cat has a squishy face so she has to dip her head really deep into the tray. - Tray opening is not wide enough to prevent whisker fatigue. - Bell chime is really quiet so my cat can’t hear it on the first ring. I had to manually ring the bell multiple times via the app for her to come and eat. Again, not making this device automatic. - Food stays too cold. It took me a month to train her to eat from this without supervision and in the end, she walks away from it because the food is too cold for her. I also believe this is why the tray is plastic instead of stainless steel. The stainless steel cooling panel underneath the tray accumulates ice so if the trays were also the same material, it would freeze the food. This feeder works for households with a cat that can tolerate cold food, can eat everything at once on schedule, doesn’t need medication, and is in relatively healthy condition. However, it's not very reliable and I wouldn't trust this device without keeping and eye on it. This is an innovative product but it just doesn’t work for me or my cat. We both don’t have the energy to stick around any longer to be guinea pigs. I’ll consider buying an upgraded version that has SMARTER capabilities with COOLING and HEATING functions from PETLIBRO in the future.

Fed empty bowl to my cat
scheduled the feeder to automatically feed the top left side of the bowl in the morning. Guess what, it opened up to nothing. Had my cat starving awhile and kept meowing to wake me up and realise the problem. Happened way too often. Terrible app and feeder logic because apparently, the feeder did an EXTRA rotation.

Absolutely disappointing
Disappointing to the max. I’ve been waiting for this product for over a month and I had to return it the same day. It did not connect to the Wi-Fi and when it tried to connect, the app freezes so much that it’s unusable.
