Hemway Mother of Pearl Iridescent Glitter Paint Additive 100g

Firstly, this product works as long as you follow the instructions.I get frustrated with reviews when people say "I added a pack of glitter and hardly have any sparkle"The instructions clearly state to use a minimum of 100g (1 packet) of glitter per 1 litre of paint. I had a 2.5 litre paint, so I added 3 packets of glitter. Yes, this makes the paint a little pricey, however the results are amazing and it's still loads cheaper and much nicer than glitter wall paper. (In my opinion)So, we had our paint and 3 packs of glitter, you MUST stir the glitter in a little at a time to avoid clumps, don't expect to tip it all in and not have clumps. This is much easier with 2 of you, my teenage daughter gradually put in a little glitter, when I had fully mixed it in, she added a little more and so on. The 3 packets took a total of 40 minutes to mix in. I used a paint mixer to ensure a through mix, but a whisk would be good too.We used a medium pile roller to roll on the paint, although 2 coats covered nicely I had quite a bit of paint left so I did 3, I'm glad I did because although 2 coats were adequate the 3rd coat finished it off lovely. This paint wasn't the easiest to cut in, but again on the 3rd coat it all blended perfectly.Now for the important bit, the more coats I added the less the wall sparkled. As I said at the beginning, read the instructions. We used hemway buffing pads and when completely dry buffed the entire wall, the pads lost there roughness about half way through, so I had to resort to using white scourer pads from the kitchen. They actually did the same job. The buffing really brings out the sparkle, the light catches it beautifully in the day and you'll see from my pictures the night light also catches it perfectly.When I mentioned to people I was attempting glitter paint, all of them said "it's a nightmare, it doesn't work, my painter and decorator won't touch glitter paint" well I'm no painter and decorator, I'm just a DIYer who takes their time, reads the instructions and most importantly follows them. If you do the same you will be so happy with the results. My teenage daughter is over the moon and so am I.

I was dubious until I buffed it and then the glitter came through fantastically which I'm not sure translates in the picture. My daughter LOVES it. The sparkle is amazing!The lady at B&Q told me to add the glitter in on the final coat. It worked.

Really good but you have to mix properly with paint to get good result.

Used on a matt pale gold ceiling, and it worked well. Very subtle during the day. Upstanding corner lights bring out the sparkle in the evening.Three thin-ish coats. Then hard work polishing to bring out the sparkle.You really need to mix the glitter in well, and keep mixing as you go. Be patient, let each coat dry properly.I used spontex green pads for polishing, they work well, and don't cost too much. Try and keep the polish pressure even or you get sparkly stripes. I used a really bright LED torch to show me the bits that needed more work to even up the sparkle. Wear a mask.And finally, you'll be finding glitter everywhere for ages no matter how careful you are.Four stars, as my back is killing me with all the polishing LOL

Looks brilliant

This is a very fine glitter, almost a glitter dust. I used the whole packet in a 5litre dark blue paint. It's... underwhelming. I've used a leading brand of glitters in the past several times and had a much more noticeable effect, on light paints and on black paint.Potentially a 'user error' of buying without thinking of needing to check the glitter size, and I'll look at it again in different lights, but at the moment I wouldn't use this one again.On the posittive- it's very sparkly while in the packet and on hands.

Glitter was amazing, just remember to stir the paint every time you apply the paint for best results

I added x2packets to 2.5L paint, very sparkly and an even coverage.

Adds a nice shimmer to the wall

Mi ritengo veramente soddisfatta di aver acquistato questo additivo glitter. Prima di tutto Hemway offre un'ampia gamma di scelta di colori, permettendo così di poter abbinare il giusto colore di glitter alle tinte scelte. Io ho comprato i glitter bianchi e li ho fatti miscelare sia con un azzurro chiaro decor perlescente (lavorazione ad onde), che con una tinta opaca blu intenso (senza lavorazione) . Il risultato è stato eccezionale in entrambi i casi e seguendo le dosi indicate nella confezione. Tutti sconsigliano di miscelare i glitter direttamente con una tinta opaca, anzi suggeriscono di fissarli dopo con un additivo specifico, che però da un effetto lucido. Io non volevo un effetto lucido visto che ho scelto una tinta opaca e con i glitter miscelati con la tinta ho ottenuto l'effetto desiderato. Bisogna solo scegliere il colore giusto dei glitter, che non devono essere più scuri della tinta altrimenti si vedono i puntini colorati sul muro quando non brillano e creano un effetto granuloso (lo so perché ho provato glitter blu su tinta blu e azzurra su un pezzo di cartongesso e non rendeva bene). Consiglio questo prodotto e suggerisco di scegliere bene i colori dei glitter in relazione a quelli delle tinte.

Il prodotto è buono ma forse a causa della mia inesperienza, il risultato non è stato ottimale. I glitter non si sono ben amalgamenti con la vernice e così il risultato non è stato omogeneo sulla parete.
