I originally bought this for my mother in law for mother's day. She loves sitting outside with her morning coffee to watch the birds. I actually ended up falling in love with it and keeping it for myself. It is so easy to use. It only took a couple of minutes to connect it to the app and now I get notifications for every little bird visitor that stops by. It has never failed to identify the type of bird and the kids really enjoy looking them up to learn more about the species. It takes still pictures within the app or you can add a sd card if you want. The bird feeder itself is super cute and holds quite a bit of food. It has an attached perch for the birds to rest on while they nibble away at the bird seed.

Picked up one of those camera bird feeders and after experiment with locations determined the best spot didn't have a nearby fence or tree to install it. Thought I would give this a try. Pros: Bird feeder fits easily and securely. Perfect height. Pole is well machined and fits together well. Cons: The tines could be a little a little longer for more stability. Also, the pole itself has a tendency to sway in the breeze so if it was larger/more robust it may be a little stiller. Impact: When a breeze comes up, the poor birdies look around and sort of give a "whoa!" reaction, as if they are going to get seasick, then take off. Solution: Ended up using three stakes and cord to brace the pole right under the feeder. Mission accomplished. Manufacturer might offer that as an option, though that would imply to a prospective buyer that the product isn;t the best out of the box. Anyway, with a little jury rigging, it meets expectations.

I got this for my bird buddy. I didn’t want to mount on a tree nor structure due to creatures we have. Easy to assemble, sturdy and tall enough that squirrels, raccoons and deer haven’t gotten into it yet!

Please do not waste your time with this pole. Simply does not work. Rocks around like a boxing clown. Assembly was easy. Securing from the rocking effect was not. The supplied spikes that you screw into the bottom of the unit are only 5.5 inches long. That depth is not even close to what is needed for proper securing of a pole sticking up 5-6 feet in the air with a weight on top leveraging movement. No way you can put a bird house on top and the wind not drive this unit in any direction to rock around like a boxing clown. The pole waved several feet in any direction with just the slightest hand bump. Tried several solutions. None worked. Securing attempt #1: First guess. Maybe the joints of the screw-in pole pieces slightly loosen after tightening as pole is manipulated. So, I re-tightened each joint as hard as I could by hand. Then, I wrapped each joint as tightly as I could with duct tape just to make sure the tightened sections stayed that way. However, no dice. Pole still waved around in any direction with the slightest bump of the hand. But I did not want a boxing clown. Securing attempt #2: Maybe the the puny 5.5-inch spikes into the ground were not doing the job. (Think just a moment: a puny 5 inches of spike to secure a pole sticking up 5-6 feet in the air—with something having some weight on top? Really?) I purchased 15-inch landscape spikes to secure the tiny 5-inch spikes more deeply into the ground. So, now, for sure, the base is solid as a rock. However, the base not budging a bit, the pole itself still nods hello a few feet in any direction with just the slightest tap of the hand. Are you kidding me? Nope, do not want a boxing clown. So, I quit. I cannot return, because I modified product trying to get the unit to work. However, I still am asking the manufacturer for a full refund just to be fair, because this stand just is not stable no matter what you do. Faulty product. Do not waste your time. UPDATE (2025 03-07): Seller was responsive, eager to help. Finally refunded my money as requested in the review, for which I was grateful. So, kudos to them. Kind of hilarious communication, however. Even though in my review I said I had tried 15-inch landscape stakes to secure the bottom (you couldn't do any better than that), still, their initial response was to ask if I had tried using "large rocks." LOL. Sure—the wife would have been really happy with that look.

Update: seller did reach out to provide good customer service. Mentioned that the 80” one does work with the bird buddy but I bought the 92” one because I wanted the additional hooks. Bought this to use with my bird buddy and none of the holes on the mount fit and the screws are too wide and long. It’s also much smaller than I thought from looking at the photos. The base is maybe the size of a salad plate.

It is a complete set including hardware. It is very sturdy and so many possibilities for height adjustment to be used. Its very easy to attach your bird feeder to, no matter what kind you are using. It also includes sheppards hook for accessories. Definitely would buy again.
