Remember to use the On/ Off switch next to the Power button!
I've been searching for a tablet replacement for some time (apparently my Galaxy Tab A belongs to my son now, lol!) but I did not want to spend too much money. I specifically wanted a Win OS. I came across this XIDU PhilBook, and found it very appealing not just for the price, but the fact that it is a laptop, and converts to a tablet, as well as the HD screen (blu-ray quality). Granted, I was a bit concerned about the brand since I never heard of it however, the reviews on Amazon, as well as other online reviews and one video, convinced me to purchase this particular Xidu. I've only had it for about a weeks as of this writing. Now on to my review! First off, major props to the seller for including a screen protector already attached as well as the excellent packaging it came in! The instructions it comes with are more like FAQ's. The PhilBook has enough speed and power for things like web surfing, watching movies on Netflix, playing music, or creating simple text documents. I have not had any problems at all yet (smooth surfing, no lag or delays while watching Netflix). The storage space is very limited so I purchased an additional 64 GB on Amazon: "SanDisk Cruzer Fit CZ33 64GB USB 2.0 Low-Profile Flash Drive- SDCZ33-064G-B35" (this Flash drive barely sticks out; very convenient for travel and it is barely noticeable once connected to the Philbook). The PhilBook has a reasonable amount of battery life, and Win 10 does not appear to be draining it too much no matter what setting I use e.g. power conservation, low screen light, etc. The battery charger is considerably small too; slightly bigger than the size of a smart phone charger.Things of interest: Once I set up my Xidu, I was not allowed to customize some settings like background and colors. I kept getting a notice that I do not have a valid version of Win 10, and I was given the option to purchase it on the Windows website. Also, overtime I tried to shut down the machine, it would simply restart and I was forced to use the power button to shut down (see picture). I emailed the seller and they responded within 2 minutes, they suggested I try a few things but ultimately, they send me a new product key. They were very nice and helpful and I'd say within a total of 10 min, this was taken care off...but not the shut down problem, I never mentioned it since I figured I probably just needed the product key. This issue was resolved after I updated Win OS which I was allowed to do with the new product key. I am also able to personalize the background, and colors. ...oh, and one more thing: the instructions did not say that I had to turn off the keyboard while in tablet mode, and I was going crazy till I realized that is what the on/ off switch is for (see pic).Overall, I am very happy with this product.

Great 11.6" Xidu PhilBook Laptop Very Pleased
My Sister and I both Got One of the Xidu PhilBook 11.6" FHD Touchscreen 360 degree Flip NoteBook 2in 1 Laptops from Amazon and are very Pleased with every aspect of this laptop. The resolution is fantastic. It Has the same Design and Options of the much more expensive 11.6" laptops. Very Slim and light weight. We did have to Email the Seller for New Windows10 Product Keys. The Seller Emailed us the New Product Keys the very next day and we were Able to activate Windows 10 with no problems.I bought my computer in April 2018 and 3 months later We have still received excellent Customer Service From Baohuazhong. All of our questions and correspondence were answered within 24 hrs. I am very happy with my interactions with Baohauzhong and would buy from them again! Thank you!

awesome laptop and lightweight
With so any choices now for a pc laptop,it's hard to decide. I was torn between a 14 or 13 inch, but decided against it because these weight at least 3.5lbs. I decided on this one because it has the 1080p resolution which I must have.. I must say this laptop is fairly awesome, esp for the price, it easily competes against laptops that are in 500 to 900usd range. The screen is just beautiful and crisp, it even comes with a screen protector preinstalled saving you both the cost and hassle to do it yourself; its glossy, not matte. This laptop looks a lot like a small macbook air. The body is mostly plastic, but I don't care, just means I won't get static electrocuted in winter time. The bottom left gets a little warm, but never hot unlike some others. At 2.4lbs, it's hard to beat. the power charger is so light and small, it's like a phone charger.CPU/memory performance is decent for web surfing. there's no bloatware preinstalled.it took nearly 6 hours to do windows update when opened brand new out of box, but this is a fault of windows 10, not the laptop. the keyboard and touch pad takes a little getting used to. I'm used to my 17" dell, which cost me 1K nearly 6yrs ago, which I got tired of bring back and forth to work; then again, it's not fair to compare a 1K laptop to a 250usd laptop. I never thought I be able to part from my 17" but this xidu philbook has changed my mind. the small form factor and light weight makes it a breeze to travel without hurting and weighing down my shoulders. The touchscreen is a nice bonus. it has no backlit keyboard.

A great value notebook.
I bought the XIDU PhilBook as a Windows tablet replacement and I’m not regretting it.The pros:The screen is a full 1080p FHD touchscreen. The viewing angles and colour reproduction are good and much better than similarly prices laptops from HP and Lenovo.64GB of storage is a necessary improvement over the 32GB offered by a lot of competing products. It means you can run Windows updates without needing to uninstall all your applications first. Also, you can add additional micro SD storage. The keyboard is OK given its small size and there is a small switch on the side that turns the keyboard and trackpad off in tablet mode. It’s thin and light for a laptop.Cons:The processor is only an Intel Atom, so don’t expect it to be as fast or responsive as a regular processor. I’m primarily using it for web browsing in Chrome and to run MS Office and for these it runs OK. For gaming the Atom and its built-in graphics just isn’t capable of running modern titles, but you can run some indie games such as FTL.The track pad is does the job but isn’t great. It’s a little too thick and heavy to be a good tablet replacement. It’s plastic, as you’d expect at this price. As it’s from an unknown Chinese manufacture you’re always taking a risk with the long-term build quality and longevity.Overall, it’s perfect for my needs. Hope this helps.

Value for money
When I got the laptop I was disappointed that the keyboard was not truly UK, as advertised. I considered returning it, but they offered me a small refund as compensation, rather than send the item back. I was about to return it anyway, then my original laptop died, so I continued to use it.I've now got used to the keyboard and the laptop is OK.My only concern is the battery, like most people with small laptops, but as it's mostly used on the table it can be left plugged in.Apart from making me think about typing the £ sign, the @ sign or the " sign, I am satisfied with how the laptop works. It's not lightening when booting up, but not too slow either (otherwise it WOULD have been returned). When I look at what is not PERFECT I consider that for the price paid, it's MORE than just OK.It does what it says on the tin, and does it well. The screen is very good, the actions are very good, and apart from not being the actual UK keyboard, I do like the key action.I think I would have expected to have paid much more for something with a "NAME" on it, that would do the same job.Overall I would recommend this laptop, especially if you could get the correct UK keyboard. Finally, unlike other companies, the customer service was BETTER than expected.Thank you Xidu.OKAY we are now a few months in, and the wifi speed is under 10% of what it should be. I pay for 100mbs and on another laptop get anything up to 80-85mbs, but on this item...…… anything between 5 and 15mbs ! ! ! !Did a full factory reset on advice from XIDU, but still deathly slow.Wish I could get this fixed cos it's an OK laptop, just deathly S L O W

Great value, nice kit.
I needed a new laptop but didn't need anything too beefy as I already have a desktop. Thought a 2 in 1 would be a good idea. Looking around there were quite a few, a lot of them pretty expensive though. Saw this one and read the reviews. So far not disappointed. Its full HD screen is excellent, its fast enough for what I need it for. I added extra 64gb micro sd to give extra storage. It has 2 x 3.0 USB ports, mini hdmi, headphone socket, and micro sd slot, which is better options than say the Microsoft Surface. It also has a keyboard switch that allows you to disable keyboard and touch pad when in tablet mode. It took a while to upgrade to Windows build 1803 but did so successfully overnight. It seems to have around 6 hours of usage on full battery, but several days in sleep mode. The screen is quite shiny so I have the brightness cranked up in bright light to reduce reflections. The keyboard as they mentioned was us layout. But that's no an issue, I installed US keyboard layout in Windows and switch to that if I am doing a lot of typing. For just over the £240 that u paid for this its a bargain.

Excellent laptop and tablet combination.
Excellent laptop and tablet combination.I purchased this laptop as I had a gap between my tablet and desktop PC’s. Hated replying to emails on my phone or tablet, and not always want to start the desktop up for an email! That’s if I’m actually at home. So this being such a slim small unit it’s ideal to have on your lap and take it away with you.As a laptop it is exactly what you would expect, slim but ridged. You can feel the build quality.Fast start up and very responsive in everything I have used it for. I added a Bluetooth mouse to it, which was seamless.I have installed Office pro and added a 200gb micro SD card for storage. Loads of room for other software and office works perfectly. This is a real gem and pleasure to use.Next job is to install visual studio for coding. Now comes the hidden extra. The screen is touch even when in laptop mode. It’s so intuitive and easy to use. There is a small slide switch on the side of the keyboard to turn it off, then the keyboard can be swivelled behind the screen and you have a fully functional tablet but with the full power of a full laptop. You can even use the keyboard, not full swivelled around as a stand, which I found very useful when watching a movie and screaming TV programs. The inbuilt speaks are actually very good. They and positioned on the underside of the keyboard on the curved sides. Of course you can always use headphones from the headphone 3.5mm jack or add a Bluetooth speaker if you need more. The laptop has a “C” type USB and two other USB ports. One being USB3. HDMI output for an external monitor or TV. The storage is SSD, so no moving parts, plus the added speed this new technology brings to your equipment. The charger is small and has a fixed cable. I’ve been getting 7 hours use out of it without any problems. The screen is very clear and has great contrast. There is a screen facing camera, which in laptop mode is at the bottom of the screen. This actually is not a problem at all, and means you do not “finger dirty” the lens when opening and closing the case, which always annoyed me on other laptops. At first set up you are walked through all the configurations with Microsoft’s windows 10 set up, so if you have a Microsoft account it does a lot for you.The laptop does need to catch up updates, this all happens in the background and you are free to use the laptop as it comes.I can honestly say this is a little gem, it has exceeded my expectations and more than filled the gap I wanted to fill when I purchased it.

broke down after 5 months
I used the laptop only for writing assignments and Netflix really. That's why overall I would not recommend buying this device, because it can barely handle that. Compared to competitors it is very cheap and the physical aspect does not reflect that it's easy to handle and looks nice, and is quite robust. However in the technical aspect it is severly lacking. I might have received a faulty device, i'm not sure.-CON- it overheats like crazy (to the point where i've burnt myself) and there is no fan.- it significantly slowed down after a couple months and I had to reset and delete everything after it wouldn't turn on to the homescreen again after 5/6 months. I only got blue screen.- Worst feature is the terrible and quiet sound (regular phone is lounder)- there is no screen keyboard coming up when the physical keyboard function is turned off which is extremely irritating- it's a US keyboard so a little confusing but that was advertised and i didn't have a problem with that personally- the charger is suuuuper short+ Pro+ the physical keyboard is super nice to type on (even with long nails)+ the screen has gotten more precise with time and is better than some other more expensive models from more reputable brands!
