This is an excellent hatchet but what makes it even better is it's outstanding value.Pros: fit and finish are great, handle is mounted well to the head. The geometry of the head, for me, is ideal for what I'll use it for...that being an all purpose camp hatchet. It is the perfect size for all kinds of camp chores. Light enough for extended use, heavy enough to carry some mass into the swing.Cons: handle material is red oak and not hickory. It looks like the bit was welded to the cheek.Unknown metal. It is reasonably hard, but I'm sure it isn't anything noteworthy.....or it would have been noted in the description.Would I recommend it. In a heartbeat. in fact, at its current price, I already ordered another.Would I go out in the woods for an extended period with only this hatchet over one of it's Swedish or German cousins. No, not yet. We'll see how it holds up.

I’m impressed I know things can get sketchy on Amazon with 3rd party sellers but this has been a really good experience. It’s is great for the cost the item is exactly what was pictured and then some. I’m super happy. 10/10 and 5/5 stars. I will happily be a returning customer and recommending to friends and family.

we bought 3 for a church outing. had some axe throwing boards built and these lasted maybe 30 minutes. now I feel sure the ones throwing them were throwing too hard and they ended up breaking. so if you are buying for amateurs, id recommend a metal, one piece something.

Beautiful construction well balanced and sharp.

This "axe" "tomahawk" "hachet" came chipped at the tip of the blade. As well as being dull put of the box. It won't even stick into a wood block when swung let alone thrown like its supposedly is labeled as a "throwing axe". I bought this as a everyday use simple little hachet/tomahawk, but I can't even use it as is WITHOUT having to sharpen it myself. Also, upon further inspection when taking photos for this review, I have found the metal itself to riddled with pits as pictured above. This is not a well made high quality axe/hachet/tomahawk as described by the maker. It's just a cheap hachet/axe/tomahawk whatever u wanna call it with a high dollar price tag.I'd give it 0 stars but I'll settle for 1 since it did come with a handle at least.... And, don't expect a way to contact the seller to complain or inform them of an issue. I have found zero way to contact them given they are a chinese company.

Bought this as a gift for my nephew because he has an interest in axe throwing. I read a lot of positive reviews saying that it was a great axe so I purchased it. Well, it was shipped to him so I can't return it but the handle has already cracked and is chipping where the handle meets the head. Pretty disappointed. I guess it is cheaply made afterall. My nephew takes great care with his tools so I don't blame him for the product breaking already. Sigh. I wouldn't recommend this product because of that. Is there a replacement handle for this?

I have quite a few hand axes and hatchets.This is one of the best I have.Grain on the handle is straight.It arrived sharp with an even grind.It's nice that it came with a couple of extra wedges for tightening the head to the handle.They will get loose with repeated throws and misses.I am pretty impressed with this little axe.Very highly recommended

Bought this axe to be used for processing fire wood. It came sharp out of the box and is a great looking axe. I look forward to using it. Good handle and excellent length. Dream Reach knocks it out of the park!
